Wait...egg rolls OR lumpia?!

half a dozen is what i eat in one sitting as well, MM, there were six of us and i think we whipped up 50ish, and there are only 2 left :) ... and thanks, Jenny, they are very tasty, since it is more meat (ground pork and spicy sausage) with napa cabbage, bean sprouts, garlic, ginger, etc. ... i hear ya, lonnie! ... and acomandr, i do love lumpia, but these are made with egg roll wrappers, so we'd have to call em egg rolls ... which i do love a good egg roll wrap, crispy, hardy.

@Acomandr, Jack in the Box? Really? I will have to try - i thought we had a JiB near us. And Stacie, difference between Lumpia and egg roll is the wrapper primarily, but also the seasoning - Lumpia often feature spicy chilis, coconut and cilantro as flavoring agents, while egg rolls more commonly use soy sauce, ginger and sesame.

is the Lumpia you make Thai or Filipino? my husband has never had coconut or cilantro in it (he's from the Philippines). So I am curious 😅

Sorry, no, we never make lumpia. Just pointing out some of the differences I’ve read about. Me, personally, buying lumpia frozen, never had much coconut but certainly cilantro in it but primarily meat filled. Wrappers are the major difference I see and taste between them and egg rolls. My mother is Taiwanese. Thai restaurants and a local world food market is where we’ve been lucky enough to find frozen lumpia.
