Like today...5 AM Power outage due to Zeta's winds....in the North Ga. Mountains. My brother in law's funeral was this afternoon. Power still out...may be for days. Lost cell service as well :-( Hubby, daughter, granddaughter & I made the best of it.

We heated leftover wings & fries on the barbecue for dinner. There was plenty of wine 😀🍷as well. We played a game of dominos & laughed ourselves silly. Then we plugged the TV into the small generator we have & my daughter & I watched the season premiere of This Is Us on the DVR. After that my granddaughter, who was going into serious internet withdrawal convinced us to try plugging the wifi modem into the generator. We had to use the long extension cord & another one to reach our separate office where it is housed. Success! In spite of 3 hours of sleep last night...it was hard to sleep listening to the wind & branches falling...I'm here checking into FS.

Thanks, Shirley. The bad weather has passed leaving behind about a million Georgians with no power. The sun was actually shining by mid morning. It was a long, very emotional day. My sister, who appeared almost shell shocked on Sunday seemed to be doing better today. But, I know she has a long road ahead of grieving. My niece's inlaws had a tree fall on their house last night & crush the whole back side of it. My neice had 3 trees leaning on their house after the storm, but carried on hosting lunch at her home after her Dad's funeral. Her sister, where my sister is staying woke up to no power as well. It has been a crazy day.

Oh wow... That was a lot worse than I imagined. I am glad you can be with your family. I am continuing to pray for peace and healing for you all during this terribly difficult time. ❤️

Thak you, Melissa. At some point we just decided we had to go with it. I was just so thankful that all the roads that had been blocked by fallen trees were clear by the time we headed down for the funeral.

Talk about a hard day being even harder! Hope each day is a little better! The amount of stress from having no power is so hard on its own- let alone with the passing of your brother in law and the services. What a terribly long day for you all! Continued prayers!

Thank you DP. We're doing everything we can to help get my sister moved out of her home & in with her youngest daughter for now. They had already sold their current home & have a closing scheduled mid November. She is a very strong women & usually pretty self sufficient. Everything is pretty overwhelming right now. We're dropping my daughter & granddaughter at the airport then I'm going to my sister's for the weekend to help her & my niece packing. Still without power at our house.
