To Mountainman2 and GibJig: Hi! I went to Japanese groceries store yesterday. There’s food court. I picked Japanese Bento style menu and my husband picked Ramen noodle.
If you go to Japan and travel by train, you can select tons of Ekiben (Eki: Station, Ben is Bento: boxed dishes). Please see the website if you are interested in.

HK, Your tempura looked especially good yesterday. I love bento 🍱 and You’re right, especially at the train stations for Shinkansen 🚅 . After a bento lunch, there’s so many incredible bakeries everywhere. I loved Mister Donut and there’s even a Cafe DuMonde ( New Orleans!) at the Osaka main station. So many wonderful food memories of Japan! 😋 😋 ❤️ ❤️

To GibJig: WOW! You traveled to Japan before! It sounded you enjoyed there. Yes, so many kinds of bento at the station that Shinkansen stops. Last November, I bought 2 kinds of Shinkansen shape bento box. Whenever I see those, my memories in Japan will be back. Ahh, Mister Donut is really good! Dunkin was there long long time ago.

HK - what part of Japan did you live in? I traveled to Tokyo, Nara, Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki. I’d love to go back and explore areas north of Tokyo. Or visit my friend who teaches in Sasebo. I do a travel memory post on Sundays for fun, so this week I’ll post about Japan! 😊
