Day 68
Ah. Met the rocket scientist on Sunday. Well, he was a nice guy, generally speaking - not handsome at all, quite overweight. Ok. That can be taken as him not at his best. Unfortunately, he was not interested in many of the things that I am interested in. He also went on wondering how a person could leave a marriage after 22 years - I think now that he was trying to figure out why my husband would leave me but at the time I felt kind of insulted, like he didn't know what I had been thinking to leave such a big investment of time. I was put off all around. Good luck to him. I think he knew I wasn't interested by the end, but I did get lunch - toasted blt with avocado, very nice.
At the same time, a fellow from contradancing called me - left a message wanting to know if I was going tomorrow night, which I probably am, with my housemate. That was a pleasant point in the day, but I don't think the contra guy is someone I could go out with.
I didn't eat much today - I have got to get my note book handy to write down what I eat every day, even if I don't get to record them here everyday. My weight is not going to go down without some focused effort on my part.
Oh, and I went to my 35th high school reunion on Saturday night - very nice, there were 40 women there out of the 156 that graduated. I went to an all-girls' high school. And many of us at the party are well over the weight we were in high school! It was great to see the people who came, since now many are up there in their jobs, kids are teens (mostly - one has a 7 year old - "do the math" - we are all in the 52 to 54 years old range!). Food was good and everyone was happy to be there. I think I made one woman's day: not only did I remember that she was our Senior Prom Queen, I let her know that everyone was really glad when she won the crown, she was so nice! We were women's libbers back then, and the prom queen was chosen randomly - number 58 through the door at arrival time, or something like that.
