Out of control. Help. Want/need to fast today but already breaking fast with 45 calories of creamer. My best change to regain control is to intermittent fast then break fast with broth with vegetables. My daughter has ice cream, sodas, lasagna, fried potatoes etc etc. It's harder than ever being at home all the time with no social interaction and no TOPS meeting, no church interaction. If the virus doesn't get us, the isolation and lack of movement will. Sorry for the negativity. Must look up.Must choose to thrive.

If you can't make yourself fast totally, why not start with a liquid fast? Have that creamer or whatever other liquid gets you through the day without eating. Don't even worry about calories...it still gives your system a break. For most of us, I think that baby steps are far more likely to lead to permanent change than anything drastic. Don't attempt more than you can truly commit to. Progress not perfection. Even 1000 calories of liquids today will be better than 2000 calories of food yesterday. Keep figuring out what works for YOU. :)

Can you invest in some simple exercise equipment or work out videos (there are a number of them on the Internet). At least that would get you up and moving and give you some variety? I do Yoga, cardio, step board, pilates and have over the years a collection of DVD's. Jane Fonda is my "company" and she visits me often when I want her to. LOL!

Ruth— your mental health is very important. This need to observe physical distancing is going to be around for a while but there is no reason you cannot mask up and go walking either with your daughter (aka junk food Judy) or with a friend or neighbor. I have a small group of friends who meet at a park, mask up and walk. Then we set up our little camp chairs and sit around for an hour or so and complain about our kids. Now we have put together a craft project that we are going to work on— we are going to make bird houses out of inverted terra cotta pots and their saucers. Just something fun to do that can be done outdoors. You have to get creative. Diet wise you know the drill, control the constant grazing, control your portions and with less activity you just have to re-evaluate your calorie requirements. I know, be kind to yourself is the FS mantra but sometimes you have to kick yourself in the ass, remember you are very much an adult and decide to restructure your eating habits.

Slow and steady wins the race... I found that when I started to appreciate the small victories they kept coming. I started being grateful and thankful for each two-tenths of a pound loss and am now down 40 pounds in 5 months. After decades of being obese I am now in the overweight category. I thank God, my guardian Angels and all the inspiring FS friends and their stories for keeping me on track. You can do it!

Today is a new day. I am planning to make my coffee, drink water. I appreciate all the support and hope to have a better day today. I weighed in and am up two pounds since last weigh in. I plan to do a load of laundry today and possibility go shopping for some protein. I am afraid to go out-afraid of what I might buy that's not on the plan. I would like some spring greens or spinach. Right now I am feeling sad and uncertain. My health depends upon what choices I make. What is the one thing I can accomplish today? Drink my morning coffee and watch my His Channel programs from 9-12. Skip is on right now on about I Chronicles 17:10 saying the LORD would build David a house. God's plans are good. What can I do for God? Be grateful for what He has done for me and trust Him for my future.

You can do this. Can you do grocery pickup? I know several stores around me have it for no extra cost. It saves me money and keeps me on track for shopping. It allows me to shop and not spend/get extra in the store. I love it for days I really want more than I'm willing to eat.

wouldn’t sweat a 2 (or even 5) pound fluctuation at all. as long as your efforts are trending down you’re doing fine. if you get real hungry kill your appetite by brushing your teeth, doing some cardio, eating gum etc. The hunger will pass. try and enjoy the process, give yourself little pep talks, and don’t over complicate the simple process of losing weight: burn more than you take in. we’ve all been there and good luck!

Thanks for the support and ideas. Yesterday I spent most of the day playing Solitaire on my tablet. Then played Words with Friends. I didn't focus on food and my weight all day.

A new week. Last night I ate chicken breast without fat and thinking. I ate a few bites and it got stuck in my esophagus. It took around 3 hours to clear up. Very painful.

Now I having coffee very slowly. My esophagus is still sore. Swallowing is difficult.
