I got lots of exercise in Montana today! Not only did I do my usual walk, but I also got in the water and paddled around on my River Rat! It was so fun, but my shoulders are a little sore this evening.

Photo Description:

1) Clark Canyon Reservoir is popular with boaters.

2) The reservoir is surrounded by lovely mountains.

3) Native Americans used smoothstem blazingstar (Mentzelia laevicaulis) for quite a few medicinal purposes. The roots were used to treat earaches, arthritis, mumps, measles, smallpox and to reduce fevers. They even chewed the roots to prevent thirst.

4) There are lots of beaches all along the water's edge.

5) Today I got in the water and paddled around on my River Rat until my shoulders were sore.

6) Yellow Sweetclover (Melilotus officinalis)

7) Here's an interesting way to enjoy the water.

8) The sun sets on another wonderful day at the Clark Canyon Reservoir.

I hafta wear boots out here, Melissa. I'm off road most of the time in this area. No snake sightings today though. 🙂

Hiking had become one of my favorite things, Roxy. When I was heavier I didn't enjoy it so much, especially going uphill. Now I love it! The fresh air, the scenery, the wildlife and wildflowers, I just love it all! Even the hills don't bother me anymore. 🙂

I'm glad you liked that information, caraken. I find that stuff fascinating. It makes me feel connected to history.

Thanks for taking care of that, Katsolo and jheeden. I deleted the spam message as soon as I saw it. Who does that? Do people really respond to spam? I know I don't.

Lonnie, katsolo and I are the dynamic duo when it comes to these spammers. I’m a Marketing Director and have been for 25+ years and any company whose sales funnel/ profit model includes this strategy tells you they’re peddling garbage. Buyer beware. If it’s so great, they don’t need to be peddling on FatSecret. I wish one of these spammers would engage me directly. Would be a short conversation.

Good job, jheeden! Spam is surely a scourge on humanity. You can't give it your email address to a legitimate company, even when you'd welcome email from them, because they'll sell your address to spammers. I got smart a few years back though. I created a separate mailbox just for junk mail. When ever a company needs an email address from me, I give them that address. All the spam goes there now, while my main email address stays relatively spam free.

Lonnie we don’t even engage in any campaigns other to our customers who ask to be included on those communications, which are about new app updates and such. Won’t change as long as I’m calling the shots. I’m also an owner of multiple spam email accounts LOL

It's not only spam, some of those bitly sites can hide the true evil of the internet as far as viruses and what-not if people click through without knowing. The worst part about the truncated addresses is that you can't see where you're going and that's not cool. I fixed the email problem by mostly not trying to read it all anymore. There's just too much and life's too short.

Gorgeous, Lonnie!! Those views are just breathtaking! 😍 And I’m so happy you got in the water this time!! Was the river rat thingy free floating or did someone pull you by boat? That must have been so fun. I’m glad you got a fun workout out of it too. 😊

Katsolo so true. I’m also on our Cybersecurity task force for the company and see this crap everyday. We’re a $ 4billion financial corporation and get attacked everyday. These spammers really tick me off!

Bravo to both of you! I had a virus on my computer once. I think it was called the "I love you" virus. As soon as I clicked to open the attachment I knew something was wrong. My computer made a funny noise, and every picture and mp3 on my computer turned into a copy of the virus. Luckily, I had recently backed everything up, so I didn't lose much, but what a pain! Shame on people who sit around dreaming these things up to cause anguish on their fellow man! Despicable! 😠

Oh, that was a bad one, Lonnie. I remember that. Not my department, but people got stung.

Same stuff here, J. I also have an aversion to people who prey on the vulnerable. Lonnie, I wish everyone would delete their comments proactively and make this forum a less enticing place for them. It's so easy but people don't know.

I hope to completely take the "work" out of "workout" one day, newname, and I've almost achieved that. Making a workout fun is how it's done. No, the River Rat is just a free floating inner tube. No body pulled me, but the wind kept pushing me out into deep water. Every since I saw that movie Jaws, I don't like to be in water where my feet can't touch bottom. I know there are no sharks in there, but it doesn't matter. It's my phobia, and I own it. Anyway, I had to keep paddling back closer to shore where the water wasn't so deep, and as a result my shoulders got a workout. I'm glad you liked the photos! ❤

I'm not sure what you mean, Katsolo. We should delete our comments?
