Obsessive Chocaholic's Journal, 10 Sep 13

Saturday Sept 7/13
I fell off the wagon last week & am trying to get back on. I've been doing quite a bit of reading on how my health is or will be affected by the fact that I am now morbidly obese. I could stand to lose at least 100 lbs. I've had an upset stomach for a couple of days, although it hasn't stopped me eating or bingeing again on chocolate bars, but I have been sitting on toilets lots!! So I decided today to use this upset stomach to get started on the right track again.
I made a big brunch. I ate 2 pork link sausages & 1 round of black pudding. Both of those I grilled. with those, I had 2 fried eggs & 2 fried potato scones, some pickled beets & some ketchup. I slept a bit in the afternoon & wasn't hungry at dinner time. Later in the evening, I ate a large bowl of rice krispies, mixed with some frosted flakes, a sliced banana & 1% milk.
During the evening I only drank room temp water with a slice of lemon, or Crystal Light iced tea.
Sunday Sep/8th
Slept late. The discs in my lower back have been very painful for the last few weeks, so I have been taking more of my breakthrough pain meds, in between my morphine & when I'm watching TV, using the heating pad on my back. I wasn't hungry during the day, just had a glass of orange juice & water. For supper, I made a stir-fry with bbq'd chicken breasts in it, broccoli, cauliflower, snow peas, carrots, red pepper, onion, garlic & white fettucine. I had a big plateful. Followed by 1/6th of an apple pie with 1 cup of ice-cream. I actually stopped after only one serving & froze the other 4 pieces in freezer bags, 2 pieces in each & I plan for this to be a treat on either a Saturday or Sunday evening. (hopefully)I plan to start doing some form of exercise starting tomorrow.

Monday Sept 9/13
I ended up taking a sleeping pill at 3.40am this morning, as I couldn't get to sleep. Woke up at 9am, took my meds with about 1/3 glass of (unsweetened) orange juice & with some coaxing got myself out of bed, dressed & put on my runners & went downstairs & treadmilled for 45 mins yeah!!! I only had the incline at 2 & speed at 2 mls an hour, but I have to start slow. Then I did about 15 mins of stretching. Lunch was 2 sl wholewheat bread, becel & a hard boiled egg, lettuce & some cracked black pepper.
Lay down for a nap with my husband. Drank water & iced tea for the afternoon. I washed the kitchen floor & then took my dog for a walk to the park & back, approx. 40 mins. Then I went for Hydrotherapy at the hospital & for the first time in months, I parked 3 blocks from the hospital & walked. Did my 30 mins of water exercises & walked back to the car. For supper, we had left over stirfry with M & M's Coconut Shrimp. I drank water during the evening & had a piece of sugar-free gum.

Thanks so much for your support cjmurph , but today I have been able to do nothing, my lower back is causing me so much pain. But I am hoping this evening to get on the treadmill. I've only drank water so far & eaten a banana. So trying to keep my overeating in check.

Hope you're not starving yourself to lose weight, that never works. You need to eat to lose. Do you use the food diary? It really helps and will help you balance out the types of food you need to lose the weight. According to my dietician 50% carbs, 25% fat and 25% protein. If I stick to that I lose as long as my portions are within limits and I move my butt. HAve a great day today.

Hi There, No I'm certainly not starving myself. I'm trying to listen to my body more & eat if I'm hungry. I eat a big dinner/supper, but I don't tend to get very hungry during the day. For me, it would be the junk that I would eat between supper & bedtime & often it wasn't junk, but huge bowls of cereal, or sandwiches or toast & jam, but I wouldn't stop at just a little bit, I would have 4 rolls, or 6 slices of toast. Or my cereal bowl, is a serving bowl!! I call it my Big Girl bowl!! My husband calls it, the Jolly Green Giant's bowl!! And no, I don't use the food diary. I don't want to count calories, more restrict my processed sugar intake & portion control. But thanks for all your messages, they are much appreciated!!
