I watch 600 pound life and they always start off the show with the person struggling to get out of bed and to the shower. Once in the shower, I'm yet to see any of them, not a single one, get all sudsy and clean. You're 600+ pounds, why are you using a quarter size dollop of body wash? You need to be pouring that shit on thick. Am I right? If I could barely get to my shower, I'd be making the most of it once I got there. Either that or I use way too much bodywash. 🤷🏻‍♀️🛁

There's the boy's side in the shower and the girl's side. He has 2 things and I have several bottles of all kinds of stuff.

I had to google coffee scented body wash because it was hard to imagine that was a real thing. Do you follow it up with a raspberry filled donut scented body splash ?

You'll have to look up body cream. LMAO- It wasn't a bodywash. Coconut coffee. I mean- all the other soaps are fruity- mango stuff so I thought since I love coffee way more than mango that I ought to try it. It really does smell delightful. Perks- I wish anything would make me lose my appetite. I'll eat right through the soapless 600 pound life shower scene without issues. 😂

It cracks me up when things are scented and named after foods. Coffee scented body wash. Margarita pedicure. Apple pie candles. Here I am trying to control my eating but non food products tease my senses constantly. The struggle is real.

I always watch it with a bowl of popcorn! The only thing that makes me lose my appetite is when they show a close up of some of the nasty feet and long toenails. Then 🤮🤮🤮

I have only watched a few you tube clips of that show. It was sad... all I could think of was that some network was making money of the commercialization of health and weight issues of his patients. I did think he was a straight shooter. The one show I do find funny is the one about secret eaters. People who eat constantly and don't realize it... until they were videotaped and caught and confronted with the massive amounts of food they were eating. That was something I could relate to on a more personal level. All 152 lbs of me.

It's an energy issue. When you are that size you are more tired more easily. Nothing is easy and I am amazed at the will power and determination of the people on the show and the progress they make.

Too tired to pump out one more squirt of body wash? Ok.

Carrying around an extra 4 bills on your body would make any activity tough.

Meet too EveeB35. Having a 495 pound friend myself, I know that it is a serious issue and showering becomes a task of caregivers. It's very sad. To be in the shoe of someone who is that weight and understanding the cardiovascular stress and pain associated with movement... Who knows. Imagine we didnt wake up and start caring for ourselves until we reached this intervention. Wouldn't be so hilarious then, would it?

If we woke up and stopped caring about ourselves enough to balloon up to 600 pounds I don't think we'd deserve anyone's pity. These people don't get Dr. Now's pity either. He berates them and calls them out on their lies. We do find aspects of it funny or else many of us wouldn't watch.

I don't find it funny. I find it appalling. And no - I don't have sympathy for them but I do enjoy watching it. I don't watch for humor. I see very little funny about that show. I watch because it's unbelievable and I watch to see whether or not the individual will lose weight. I'm definitely more of a Dr. Nowzaradan then a Richard Simmons type. Though I do love me some Richard Simmons. No sympathy from me. I just can't. Lose weight or don't, but save the tears. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's not that exciting. I fast foward a lot and these new episodes that show year 1 -take the whole hour and if they've not made progress, they can't get the surgery.. Episodes typically end when they've had surgery. I like when it shows progress and they are ready for skin removal.

I have to tell you my MIL is very heavy - not 600 lbs tho! She used to have a couple of ladies come in and help with the shower - and it was only once a week. Thankfully when she moved closer (Texas to WA state), she lost a bunch of weight because she needed to be able to do the airplane thing to get here. I am happy to say that she appears to be maintaining, and now is able to shower every day, and do it without help. What is very interesting about her is that when we used to visit her in Texas, she didn't seem to eat bunches of stuff. Three average sized meals for a 5'10" woman, and a couple of fruits for snacks during the day. I always wondered where she was getting her calories. When she stayed at our place for a few weeks before moving to the Retirement Apartments, I discovered that she had packed a little suitcase full of little candies, chocolates, and unhealthy snack packs of cookies. Mystery solved. Interestingly enough, she never knew that I saw the snacks... The wrappers never went in the garbage pail in her room. She must have kept them in her suitcase so no one could see them. I find this a little heartbreaking actually.

Jazzylittleone... That's interesting. I understand eating and hiding the evidence. Trying to throw my fast food bag away in the outside trash. 😢

I looked the show up on YouTube to see some of it. How crazy sad. Related to what Jazzy and you said, I think most of us who struggle with weight know the embarrassment of hiding our unhealthy relationship with food. For some we decide to turn it around at any cost at 5,20,50, or even 100 pounds. To get hundreds of pounds overweight there has to be a total disconnect between actions and consequences in their brains. To me, seeing this was a lesson in knowing our failings are all a matter of degree.... But for the grace of God go I. I'm so glad I can have all the luscious body wash I want!!! 😁

I have a brother who is... I'm guessing 370ish and a sister close to 300 I am sure. Both eat sparingly when around others. Their bewilderment about why they can never lose weight used to confuse me... How can it be possible that I can and they can not? I absolutely must come down to what they eat in private. Both are diabetic with a host of other medical problems.
