I ate a low carb breakfast and 2 hours later at 11:30 I am hungry. Fixed 1 oz. Roadted cashews. Still hungry. What's up?

Hi, Ruthie1213. From a previous post, I see you're on a very strict organic diet but it doesn't seem helpful for weight loss for you. Is there a reason for this? (No eggs -- are you allergic to them or is there another reason?) I noticed you include a protein shake for breakfast and then are hungry two hours later. Shakes ("drinking my calories") never hold me over.

^I mean, is there a medical or other reason to be on this strict organic diet, besides your doctor's recommendation? (For example, does the doctor sell the shake mix?)

A suggestion: Macadamias, pecans and, to a lesser extent, almonds are lower-carb than cashews. Also, nuts are high-cal choices so we can eat less. (Half an ounce to one ounce is my max.) Best wishes with your journey.

I am not doing what my doctor prescribed except the tests showed sensitivities to egg whites and yolks. Also borderline sensitivity to cow's milk, wheat, yeast and maybe something else. I haven't had eggs or dishes that are mainly eggs but I have been noncompliant with processed ffoods. Somewhere within me I do have the power and ability to comply. I pray for the willingness to do what is best for me.I paid the doc to tell me what would make me feel better physically but it's very uncomfortable to have to eat so restrictively. Wild caught fish, nonhormone range-fed poulty and beef, uncured bacon and vegetable are great but I miss mayo, eggs, sugar foods and grains, especially corn and oatmeal and bread.

No doctor does't sell shake mix but does believe in natural healing vs.drugs whenever possible. I will be 75 next month and want to feel better. I really need to work at being compliant. I know I can with God's help.

Can you have beans and rice? I know they have carbs but they are very filling and good if you are eating "plants". My doctor wants me on a plant based diet. I can't do it 100% yet but I am trying.

Ruthie, dietdoctor.com has lots of info on LCHF/keto. You may find their food lists helpful in choosing a variety of meats, fish, and low-carb vegetables. Low-carb berries can be a good choice. Also, Dr. Ken D. Berry and Dr. Robert Cywes have great YouTube videos on a wide range of LCHF/keto subjects. These may help!

Need fatty things. Cashews not good because they are higher carb (and moreish). Try Googling low carb breakfasts. Sorry rice and beans will just tinker with your blood sugars and cause you to feel hungry IMHO.

1/2 cup beans a day but not every day. No rice. It is a grain.
