Am I the only one who has to dole out snacks like a prison warden?

I bought the family a big box of donuts and two things of mini muffins. For myself I bought apple fritters. I told them they could each have one of mine and that would allow me two.

Normally they sneak them all in a day and wonder why we are out of snacks. This time hubby decided he needed two so either my middle or I didn’t need ours.

Now, after comparing each week about how much I spend at the grocery store, he wants to go buy more donuts to make up for his eating more than his share (after eating his donuts and before eating his muffins). Grrr

I don’t buy ramen much anymore because a box of 12 will be gone in less than a week. 2-3 is his snack and 1-2 each for the girls. 2-3 snack cakes if I don’t limit them. Yet they let things like cauliflower and bananas rot.

Nope, I need to do this too. My 12 year old is overweight so I try to do it in a way that I say it too all the kids like “ stop going through all the snacks there expensive, or no snacks right now we are about to have dinner”

My oldest is 30# over her ideal weight but she’s athletic so it’s a lot of muscle. She just can’t stop eating. I’m afraid she will become quite heavy if she doesn’t control her eating now (gained 10# in 7 months). Hubby just doesn’t stop and think about what others want. If he wants it he will eat it end of story. And complains he’s not losing weight on his diet ;). My younger two are very thin but still want to snack constantly. :/ Then of course aren’t hungry for meals. I’m considering a locked cabinet for the snacks if they keep it up and keep wasting meals! I’ve tried just not buying junk food but they still let the good stuff rot and continually whine about being hungry.

I never had to do that but I did have to hide Cutty's cashews in the broken dishwasher back in the day because I didn't like listening to his rant when Blondie & her crew ate them all. Memories. Good times. What?

Glad y’all are so real. When mine were younger, I kept tabs on everything as well. Not now that they’re 18 and 21. But all my preaching wasn’t in vain. They are both great eaters and very balanced. No food was ever off limits but portioned and sensible. Even though I had gotten obese, it wasn’t from ‘junk’ per se. It was just from good food of all kinds but did not care about Cico.

Oh and no food rots here. I have to buy fruit and veg more throughout the week than anything else, while the cookies or whatever can sit there for a long time, except the Brookies of course.😉😉
