Long time customer just shuffled his feet, stared at the ground and said to me, "I know this isn't polite.......but.... you look fantastic."
I smiled and said 'well, knock yourself out... Rude away!"
Whew! I thought he was going to complain about the prices!!
I have more bubbling about in my bella-journal-brain for later but felt that experience, an apology proceeding a compliment, needed a little showcase of it's own.

Yeah, it was kind of nice. I'm working really hard to learn to take a compliment graciously. You know, it's not easy - how many times do we want to argue with the compliments ... I'm practicing saying 'thank you' and 'yes, thank you for noticing' and 'yes, thank you, that's very kind of you to say' instead of 'well, yeah... but...' Leaving my but out of it...
