I just made a big pot of squash soup for my family while my 21 year old girl whipped up a pretty painting for me! Happy Fall!

This fall will be fun, pumpkin soup? I never tried it. I must try it looks exceptional. The soup is the best in autumn and winter. You are a wonderful mother 😍

Thanks guys, it was fun and special to get a nice fall decoration too. Binky, sounds like putting together the right wine for a meal!? Gave me a chuckle! 😁

Safa, I had not had this soup until I was making a birthday celebration for one of my teens and one guest who was coming was vegetarian and the other on a strict no flesh fast. For mine I bake squash and sweet potatoes in the oven and Sautee a bunch of onions and garlic. I also use some boiled white potatoes. The same daughter who paints also got me a "wand" blender so I can puree it all up in the pot with the spices. It is a savory soup but also a little sweet! I hope you will try it some day!

Oh how nice you are, thank you very much for the recipe. I'll try it and tell you, I think it's delicious. Are there certain spices for this recipe?

Some fresh ginger would be perfect, but I only had powdered... That and nutmeg. Also some pepper. I use a chicken or vegetable stock to boil the potatoes and for the liquid when adding everything together along with a good amount of coconut milk. There are many recipes available. I don't follow one, but I got the general idea from several. It is really easy!

Hmmmm love these type of soups. Do you serve yours with anything or on its own?

Wow- that is beautiful! I'm amazed by the different talents people have been given! Please tell your daughter that I love it- she won't care- but tell her anyways. LOL

The soup sounds wonderful, and the painting is fantastic! What a talent she has! I love all the richness of autumn she’s conveyed, and I can easily imagine a chill in the air in her portrait of fall. You guys are two talented ladies! 🥘🎨🧣🍂🍁🍎

How beautiful! Your daughter is so talented and what a great memory together. That soup sounds awesome. I've only done acorn squash soup.

Thanks, Peggy! Wifey, some of us just had soup, both boys were not interested at all in squash soup... They have never liked it! Instead they just ate the pork chops I had made! 😁 Girls love it... Hubby finds it "alright."♥️

Princess, I did tell her! She works very early opening a coffee stand and I let her know what you said before she went out the door. She was surprised and happy! She is super talented, and a quick little painting like that isn't one she is proud of, but it did mean something and she was really pleased you liked it!

Thanks jcmama and Tom and laarae and tat, and sweet! I am telling my girl what you said! She has always been able to draw and paint and had so much hope it might be a skill she could use in work. It hasn't worked out that way... She took another educational path, but art is still very important to her. She does commissioned art from time to time, but mostly just for fun and to relax. She was literally a little embarrassed I posted this since it is such a quick little thing, but it is mine and I think it is beautiful!! 😁
