Benched the bar 3s of 10r. Squat 95, deadlift 70+ whatever the bar is (6-7 reps, 1set) and once again added pull-ups/chin-ups 1 set each grip style 6/7/8 reps with 46-52# of ‘help’. 😉

@Chris, that pain of which you speak... I’ve now felt that for the whole last half of the workout lol.

Pec deck front and back, overhead press, both hip machines, leg curls/extensions, torso rotation, lat pull downs, tricep pull downs and rows on top of those mentioned above. Oh, 60 bicep curls and 30 hammer curls with 8# weights. The slim metal handle is much easier to grip and keep ahold of than mine at home. Just irritated that I’d have had a fill hour in if I’d stayed 1 min and 1 second longer grrr. lol.

You are doing great. Keep it up. Just curious what fitness app you are using?

Two things- I LOVE graphs and charts and tracking of things and 2nd- I, too, would be really irritated with the 1 minute 1 second thing. ;) Dang it! Good job!

@HALL I use this FatSecret app and that’s it. A trainer at the ymca showed me the machines and started me on lower weights she thought I could do easily last year through the livestrong program for cancer survivors. I took half a year or more off after that. Now I pick peoples brains on here. Chris and Diablo and CB give me the most advice as to lifting(what, when, how much etc). Use their knowledge 😉. I do and I’m so grateful to them and others who have helped me. I don’t like any apps I’ve checked in to.

Lol princess. We could almost be sisters if it wasn’t for all my talking and stories 😁. Hubby laughs at me when I start making spreadsheets, looking up graphs and get so darn excited over things like the body scan charts haha.

@PEEPERJJ ok. I saw the picture of your original post and thought it looked pretty cool. I use this to track my food intake and I have a Garmin watch and app that tracks my steps, sleep, cardio, weight lifting, etc. I just put up a post this morning looking to get some info from people on here about keto. Thanks for the info and have a great 4th of July

Yes- peeper- we could make charts and graphs and eat cottage cheese with pepper and every once in awhile I'd be like- "Peeper- shut the fuck up". JK JK Love ya!

Well aren’t we a sassy one Princess lol. I’d reply ‘ya gonna make me?’ (While laughing as I’m sassy too) Then of course Id back down, shut up and shove something like a jawbreaker or snickers in my mouth to give you a break haha.

@hall Ohhh ok! That’s from my Apple Watch. It’s the workout app that was already on it (Nike version watch) when hubby gave it to me. I didn’t care for the Nike app but the workout app is awesome. I just open it and click whatever workout I’m doing and it starts counting calories burned and my heart rate. At the end I have to remember to hit stop and pause it if I need to stop for a minute for whatever reason.

@Chris thanks! Hubby offered me a belt but I refused. Next time I’ll try the belt as just those 6-7 or whatever it was made me back hurt lol. Well everything combined contributed I’m sure. Good thing it’s an off day plus the 4th so I’m relaxing. We will stain some wood later then set off fireworks, but nothing strenuous. I’ve lost 1.5” off my arms from April 2018 to March 2019. From the middle of March 2019 to end of June (gym 4/5/19 to present) I’ve gained 1/4-3/8” back lol. A year to lose that in fat and muscle and probably a year to gain it back in mostly muscle.

@Chris I also should mention I pulled a “Diablo” and had pizza for dinner last night after the gym and it’s on the menu again for tonight lol. I went way over on calories but protein was high and it was so worth it! Best thing about maintenance and muscle gaining is I can have a few 2000 kcal day a month and not worry. I even lost weight after that pizza haha. As for your ‘baby’, I almost said ‘thanks for the advice dad’ but that sounds/seems weird lol. So instead... ‘ thanks for al your help and advice Chris!’ Lol Oddly enough, it hurt last night but today is mostly just tired and my back aches. The normal soreness hasn’t set in yet and by now I’d normally feel some of it. The squats, deadlifts and bench bar are just to work those stabilizing muscles right now. Once I can do them more fluidly then I’ll add some more weight. Will probably back off on the deadlifts to maybe 25# each side of the belt doesn’t help. May add in the lower back machine too. That’s a killer but if it helps I’ll deal with it at least once a week lol. I can do 90 on it easily and 120 is a bit rough by the third set. Again, thanks for all your help and advice! Keep it comeinf plz 😁

@everyoneWhoHasEverGivenMeAdvice thanks! Your advice, help, support and encouragement has made me see that working out by lifting is necessary. Not just occasionally but as a weekly and forever workout. I still don’t want to do this 3x a week until Im too old to drive to the gym, but I do want to work as hard as I can now so that it’s easier and I can lighten up in about 30 years 🤪.

Ok thanks! I took a screenshot! Hubby said it was more to prevent a hernia? I don’t care about pinching ribs or hips. It’s when it gets pinched right under my ribs that drives me insane lol. I also hold the abs tight ALL the time. I’ll have to concentrate on pushing them out rather than holding them firm. What are wrist straps for? Dumbbell work? I hope to work on my forearms soon (by laying my arms flat then using the wrist to curl my hand up while arm is still and stable as per what I read online).

I’m so jealous of your muscles!!! Lol 115# deadlift is impressive. Especially for someone so small! Also 🙌🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏 pull ups! I can barely do a few with 80# of help ☹️ They are so hard

@Dawn honestly I can only do between 4 and 8 reps depending on what grip I use and if I use the 46 or 52 pound weights to help lol. I want to use the 59 one but hubby put it there at first. It’s a pride thing I guess. I have to use less help than he expected me to use 😉. My bands at home are supposed to help 20-70 and 50-120 I think. Not sure but the total was around 150 at the max. Halfway up it gets hard lol. The more you do it the better you’ll get. It takes forever though! *grumbles* When I first got it I had many days of doing just 2-3 and only the one set. Now I can do 3 sets of 7-10 at home. Hubby took it off the door or I’d be doing it at home. And before Chris or anyone tells me to put it back up... the end of my finger has a huge slice down the middle where I cut myself. I can’t even use the left hand to make the bed without opening it up again lol. I need to give him the puppy dog eyes so he will put it back up 😉.

@chris, will do! Somehow I think that’s several months off if not more than a year off lol. I’m fairly steady with the bar alone as long as I don’t get distracted and nobody else is anywhere near (I dislike the thought that someone might see me struggle with form).

That is still impressive Peeper! I guess consistency is key. And I’m working on that now. Trying to make a set work out that includes everything cuz I am such an air head sometimes lol I get obsessed with one thing and then find something new and then that takes all my time! Lol I found a YouTube MegSquats has a “how to get your first pull up” vid. You should check her out. Maybe her way could help you transition to unassisted. I think I’m just way to heavy still but will continue to build the muscle to be able to do it one day 👍
