I liked this info. It definitely defines the details. And I thought Cardio was everything, although it can help in some ways.

Someone who is obese tends to eat a lot of calories. I can eat a lot more calories than an average male. Most men who eat 3k calories would gain fat at my height and weight. I just lost 14 pounds in 5 weeks while eating that much. Tell me that isn't a powerful testament to weight lifting being greater than cardio for weight management and a healthy body composition. An obese person actually has a very high likelihood of improving their composition while lifting. They can lose a lot of fat and gain a good amount of muscle at the same time. Not so much with cardio alone. Being obese is one of the best times to lift. It is also less stressful on the knees. 45 min of lifting or 45 min of pounding your knees at 300+ pounds. Easy choice. Placing cardio any higher on this pyramid would be a mistake.

The reason I mentioned eating a lot of calories is because most will tend to go back to eating a lot. At least if they are lifting they are building healthy lean mass. When someone has a plateau because they can't eat less, they will be building muscle while losing fat. I hope she doesn't mind me mentioning her but Swedish Blonde is a great example. She has remained at approx the same scale weight for a little while but her clothes fit her better and she is gaining a lot of muscle tone. It's guaranteed that she is healthier than she was months ago and cardio wouldn't have given her those benefits.

I don’t mind at all!!! Cardio? Is that Spanish? 😂 I have remained within 5lb since August 2018 but dropped an entire size in clothes unrelated to my tummy tuck. I also don’t log what I eat which leads me to believe I’ve created good habits because I don’t starve nor do I deprive myself of anything. I do cardio one a week for 30-45 min but mainly for my heart. I’ve increased all my weights and built muscle! I do have fat to lose too or more lose skin really but I’d like to get my body fat down more which in my case is with lifting!!! Thanks for mentioning me Diablo360x. I’ve learned a lot from this site and you!!!

The biggest difference between Cardio & Lifting Weights is how long your body continues the metabolism process. Our Gym reduced the Cardio activity by 50% this year. We use to run everyday for at least a half mile, now we only do sprints on Assault Bikes, Ski ERG & Row Machines. Even the run is only 400m.

Not sure I'd order/include the same things, but I couldn't agree more that it's useful to visualize it as a set of ordered priorities, particularly w/r/t nutrients. In fact, I feel like I comment that a lot -- maybe it's catching on 🤩

Wait, I thought protein makes you gain weight 🙄

My muscles like it all.

Lifting can get boring so I try to mix it up with livestock. OHP two goats or squat a holstein. If they wouldn't twitch so much I'd have better success.

Good sleep helps a lot for sure. Always get more hungry after a bad night sleep. Would put sleep closer to the base myself.

Why's the Golden pyramid red anyway?
30 Jun 19 by member: Cb1006
Lol, idk. And yes, protein and carbs make you fat when you listen to book selling doctors over the free science that is out there.
