@Crazycatchick (it is funny that with such a name, you don’t sound crazy at all). Yes, I have my account on private settings and seldom post. It maybe selfish, but I am here for myself and just don’t have time for all these daily interactions. Now on vacation, typing sitting next to the pool after a good swim and still questioning if it is worth my time. I am on a “flexible” diet, don’t have diabetes. I do eat fruit. I wouldn’t ever be able to binge on fruit though. 100 g of fructose sounded like an awful lot, that is why I commented in the first place. And I agree with your comment, I noticed that as well. All the people you mentioned eat very reasonably according to their individual goals but you wouldn’t guess it if you just looked at some of their posts or comments.

And you keep sounding very silly malete..tell me one post of mine, diablo’s and or keyten’s that encourages anything other than portion control

Sorry, didn’t notice you asked about servings. I think it is all individual. It also depends on amount of glucose and protein you eat at the same time as they increase absorption. All fruit have different fructose to glucose ratio so will be tolerated differently as well. For me one medium apple will be enough to start feeling a bit of discomfort and never try to eat a big one, but even a large banana is fine. I wouldn’t consider myself very sensitive, I’ve seen worse. I would guess some people who report they are feeling better on Keto, actually feel better because they removed food with FODMAP they cannot digest. But that is just my guess, no study to support this claim, though I am sure somebody already published something on the topic.

Sorry, Rosio if I sound silly to you. I am not an expert on hearing problems, not sure how to fix that.

So am I.

I am a very private person, but leave my profile open. I do more reading than posting here. Sometimes I enjoy the debates.. sometimes they get silly. IMHO, I believe there are a few here that have an issue with the 'poster', rather than the post!! btw, I eat fruit.

Keyten, I think it is OK to be OCD sometimes, it is your health at stake. And I do share your belief that you can improve your health by eating healthy well balanced meals. It is great that you can feel better, eat good food and have so much fun with cooking and plating and that all while “on a diet”.

Well, I eat a lot of fruit and I have to say that it does give me problems. When it is really bad I cannot go anywhere unless there is a washroom. It is very restricting and uncomfortable. I don't get heart burns. I spoke to my doctor about it and she did want me to be checked but I said that I was sure it was because I ate too much fruit. I don't have only one peach, I have 4 and maybe more. I also eat other fruits. I don't know if I have a problem or if I just overeat them.

Eating a lot of fruit and vegetables will do that to you. Just eat a few different varieties of fruits and veggies.

So i was the biggest Atkins (Paleo - same difference just repackaged) in the world, then I had 2 kids, Atkins wasn't doing it for me and I tried good ol' fashioned calorie restriction. I have to tell you that as long as I stay within my calories for the day I lose weight and can eat pretty much as much fruit as I want. It was trial and error and being terrified of fruit but It works big time. I am so glad because I feel like I can have everything and lose.

In hindsight it's hilarious to be afraid of natural food from the earth.

Average (medium) banana has 7 grams of fructose and just over 100 calories. If I consume 14 bananas I have sucked down 1400+ calories but stayed under the dreaded 100+ grams of fructose. Perspective, 20 ounces of Coke or 5 bananas has the same amount of fructose. Maybe there is a fruitarian out there who eats this and is fine. Maybe not. Am I missing something else? Probably.

Yes, if your diet consists of only bananas you got issues

What I have learned is it would be difficult for anyone on any type of diet to reach 100 grams of fructose on an average week. I am 56, 5.6" with a bmi of 22. I do both cardio and lifting. My diet is basically whole foods, lean meat, fish, whole grains and healthy fats. My waistine is 36" and since incorporating more fruits into my diet a few years ago it expanded. I never heard of fructose malabsorption but it makes sense to me now after reading more about it since this post. I may not be so tolerant of straight up fructose in my diet. Apples and pears are high fructose with no glucose and send me running to the toilet. I eat on average 3-4 fruits a day and 5-6 veggies. I am going to focus more on the list of fructose and glucose balanced foods I found on the Paleo website. Thank you Melete!!

p.s. Although avocadoe is technically a fruit it has almost zero fructose and all the carbs are basically fiber. May need to up my intake from a half a day to a whole....and reep all the nutritional benefits they provide. I have never counted them as a fruit for me they are healthy fat and fiber. Have a good day.

Hey Rosie and Diablo! Check out Liliyabrinth! What you’ve both been saying all along and even I’m a believer! Variety of all foods just stay within calories and it works! It always works! Great weekend y’all! 😎

I agree Rosio....I really do not want 14 bananas as my carbohydrates on the daily.

I mean, I know you can have mental issues and it’s not funny but my post/comments are for the general population. For my own son with asd I use different strategies, since he does lack that common sense. (But like I said, those are other neurological issues)
