Lisa Online's Journal, 18 Jul 10

Duh... I found my journal entry entered twice under my comment sections AUghhhhh!!! I am so challenged at times lol. Okay.. Officially pasting my journal now. Flucking fluctuations lol. I got into some extra calories last night after 11PM so I am being real.

I wrote this in one of my buddies journals this morning and decided it would be a great journal and reminder: In the year 2008 I grabbed myself by the scruff of my own neck and started a walking group with some of the Mom's at my youngest daughter's school. Up until this point I was pretty much sedentary as exercise was NOT one of my habits. We as a group were very consistant walking approximately 2 miles, 4 to 5 days per week for about two years and we realized we really enjoyed our time outdoors walking and talking. Then my older sister inspired me after she made incredible strides with her weight loss by incorporating weight training at Curves. Dianne went from 300 plus to 165 and said she did it with the Curves routine and of course watching her calories. That is when I encouraged the other Mom's and myself to get a local gym membership and kick it up a knotch. I have been attending the gym for 2 years and started out very slow but kept steady. It wasn't until January when I realized I needed to keep a journal of the things I ate and since learned I love the writing support group aspect of this site. Bam!!!! My weight started coming off. I realize it is a slow pace to some people's standards but what I am finding is the body under my recently shedded fat is a lot more tone then the other times in my life when I lost weight. My main exercise goal is not for the weight loss as much as the High Energy Days. I am finding I am getting better and better at achieving high energy and am craving my workouts which is just amazing to me. May you find the routine that works best for YOU as this is so individual. With all of that said I hope I was able to communicate what I am trying to say lol. Have a great day, Towanda!!

Very good advice. This site is not the easiest for navigation :)

Exactly perfectly said Lisa. We are all in this for the long haul. If it takes us 2 weeks or 2 months to lose 2 lbs, so what.... as long as we are consistent and stick to it. I love the way we can log in calories and it shows all the nutrition also. I create recipes all the time on this site so I know the calories, and all the nutrition. I do not put out for publication as they NEVER get around to approving. They said they were way behind. Whatever. Anytime you want one of my recipes let me know. I love experimenting with them and most come out delicious. Some are higher in some nutrients than I would like, but I like to eat well AND lose weight. Working out well, slow, but well. Thanks for stopping my journal. Have a nice evening Lisa.

Great journal and yes I agree with you slow and steady is the way to go and yes I notice the same thing with my body. I have lost this same weight over and over again but never have I looked or felt as fit and I owe it all to the exercise. It sure is worth it!

A one pound uptick cannot get too far out of hand when you are watching it so closely. I've always wondered what they do at Curves as they sure seem to be becoming awfully poplular. I replied to your post on my journal. Yesterday I got a bit carried away too, though I believe we both are just fine. Have a great day Lisa!
