"So if your tired of the same old story, turn some pages. I am here when you are ready, to roll with the changes, baby, roll with the changes, oh you know you got to ...Keep on rolling." (REO Speedwagon)

I am thinking about all the postive changes I have made since January 2010. Today I made a list and kept adding as thoughts came up:

Record daily food journal to keep honest about what I eat even though it is hard some days. I record my weight, I am accountable! After seeing a recent documentary on the 10 things to do to lose weight I will also include my cups of coffee, measure my watermelon a bit more carefully, and other incidentals I wasn't counting.

Eating mainly healthy food and eliminating junk and appreciating and enjoying food, keeping calories between 1200 and 1500. Learned to listen to hunger signals, and differentiate between real hunger and emotional hunger. My teeth are benefit from limiting the amount of sugar I have consumed. Eat soup as often as possible.

Oh yeah, SUGAR!!! I have made a huge effort in limiting my intake! (this is big for me) I used to get my energy from sugar but my lows were way low.

Exercise 4 to 7 days per week and enjoying it because it generates energy. I get my dancing from the stair master "I call it dancing with the stairs", I get my singing from my i-pod, even though I say the words silently as I work out. I am able to breathe deeply and enjoy the music! I love to sweat and then take a refreshing shower afterwards. Swimming with my 10 year old daughter gives us special time together and builds muscle groups and creates wonderful memories. Working out to a D.V.D. with my friend gives me isolated muscle strength and conversation of a wonderful person(s) who is trying to reach the same goals.

Making a goal to generate a high energy level each and every day by exercise, eating good food, and surrounding myself with positive people.

My bladdar hasn't felt the "Urgency needs" that used to get so intense since I took off some weight. (This was a surprise to me)

My posture is getting stronger and straighter. I am building bone mass so I will not suffer from osteo that is highly inherited in my family.

Built a strong support group with inspirational fun people.(thank you everyone for your friendship and valued time ) My writing and social needs are being met by joining F.S. This tool is developing day by day and I am at awe at how important it is to have such a unity.

Lost 27 pounds and some inches. My fat clothes that were once tight and cutting into me are now baggy. I am in smaller sized clothing.

I get out of bed and the bathtub a lot easier now, and can feel strong muscle groups to manuever around. I can balance on one foot with ease.

My attitude and mind has gone from stinking thinking to a better postive outlook. I have more good days then bad!

I am doing and trying more things such as horse back riding, quad driving,Zumba classes, volunteer activities, etc. (Brooke how is that sentence lol)

My legs and arms are tone for the Summer! Last summer I had chubby knees and arms and kept myself hidden for most of the time. Summertime is much more comfortable this year!

My writing, dancing, singing skills are not outstanding but I am okay with that. I am going to seek out things I love and do it! I am a dork and am happy because of this freedom of expression.

New change started yesterday: Don't eat after 8PM

New change starting tomorrow: Weigh in daily and see how that change effects my bottom line.

As of January 2010 my doctor said I was officially into menopause. I embrace my womanhood but enough was enough. Perhaps I am one of the lucky ones but so far so Marvelous. I served my time and it is so liberating not to have those monthly annoyances anymore! TOWANDA!!!

TOWANDA is attitude. Learn what is required to feel good about oneself. You and I are worth the effort! Loving and taking care of ones self by stepping outside of guilt, coming from your power, not your weakness, accepting yourself as you are right now, and not taking oneself so seriously. Did you ever see "Fried Green Tomatoes"? Something about the Kathy Bates character strikes a chord with me especially at this exact time in my life. I feel the word gives me some kind of Power. YouTube has a few videos that come up when you type the word Towanda. Pick one of the longer running Towanda clips and play it as it will give you a better understanding :) To my Buddies and all other Foodies out there; We are doing it and will reach our goals and maintain.(day 16) TOWANDA!!!

Wow, you are amazing. This positivity is outstanding. I so wish I were there. I still battle with time and fatigue in the evening. Course, I am not as young as I used to be. (who me?) Last night for instance, I came home at 4 pm. Had to go on PC to take care of personnal finance issues. Done by 5:15. Then went downstairs to start making dinner. Done by 5:45-6:00 pm. Hubby came home, sat down to eat about 6:10. Watched news while we ate. About 6:40 picked up dishes, stacked dishwasher, etc. Tried in vain to get on laptop for 30 minutes, gave up and went upstairs to log in foods and jot a note to FS. Done about 7:30 or so. Tired by now and no energy to do any exercising and didn't want to be kept awake if I DID do it so late. So, I read a book for about an hour, ate a piece of fruit, and went to bed about 10. Today will be worse, as I babysit my granddaughter tonight, and from 4-7 we are involved with dinner prep and feeding/entertaining/bathing the baby. When, when, when do you find so much time. I am not complaining cause when I can, I will exercise, but finding 30 minutes at a decent hour is hard. Later night time is too late and am tired and don't want to increase endorphins at that hour. You are amazing. I am really glad for you, as it seems the short time I have been a buddy, you are totally up in attitude and really with this game. Good for you Lisa and sorry this is so long. You can be proud of yourself. This is exactly what we all strive for and you have made it. :-))))))) (that's lots of smiles). Have a great day Lisa, as I know you will.

Learn what is required to feel good about oneself. You and I are worth the effort! One morning around 4 years ago as I layed in bed with the flu. For some reason I came to the realization that I needed to do some daily exercise. I thought to myself that I deserve one hour in the day for me and I will fight for that time slot! I realized the messy house will always be there to greet me so "Let it Be", and make some changes. My girl friend Laura gets up an hour earlier (She is very dedicated to herself right now) but she has been feeling so much better as she realizes the exercise is for building energy and stanima for the day and the perks that come with it is the tone body, clear mind and positive attitude. I know some people may not have an hour in the day but I hope they are able to find at least 30 minutes in the day to do this because it makes such a huge difference. TOWANDA!!!
