Habits! I am going to put in here what I find out, with additions as comments, to keep the habit plan all together.

First pass: habits become pathways in the brain, you do these activities automatically. How many times have you been driving on a weekend, find yourself daydreaming and have to figure out what day it is and where you are going because you just passed a significant indicator that you are driving to work? I do it every weekend practically. This is autopilot mode: a habit that takes over so you can think about whatever you want and not the driving. When you do an activity over and over, it becomes a routine. Each routine has a trigger, the activity, and the reward: I need to drive on Route 2, I drive from my house toward there, I get closer to my work or my friend's house and I only have to think about driving once I get near the work exit. For eating, the trigger can be almost anything: hunger, boredom, stress, timing, available food/treats. Figure out what triggers you to eat and you are halfway to changing the habit. Figure out the habit and change the activity when the trigger happens. Key to this is planning ahead: when I get hungry, I will eat the food that I brought with me that fits my WOE. There you go, step one!

Hope you had a great Tuesday! More tomorrow - there are many steps but they are all simple after you get the first one of figuring out your triggers!

Gosh, I thought I was the only one who did that. I get to work lots of mornings and can't remember making certain critical turns on my commute route. Auto-pilot, for sure!
