moopie321's Journal, 02 Jan 19

I spent tonight scrolling through my old entries for inspiration. I started at 139, went down to 123, now back up to 133 after 3 weeks after some hiccups and burps. I lost 6 lbs in a month last time, I’m hoping something spectacular like that again.

I lost water and fat too as I was on a calorie deficit, but the initial drops are definitely water weight. I’m not rushing to lose, but I feel best not eating grains and sugar. I would cut out dairy too but I like cheese. I ate everything that I wanted the last 3 weeks. I know I can’t do what you and some others do with portion control because even the extra carbs in my cappuccino from the low fat milk spiked my hunger. I would rather go up and down, and back up (but not as high) and down (lower), and keep repeating than to feel constant hunger. Everyone is built differently but we all need caloric deficit to lose. I couldn’t exercise since 12/14 from a health problem but I’m recovering and feeling ready to go again. Exercise suppresses my appetite too strangely. I truly appreciate your input though, I feel the same way when it comes to mlm weightloss scams. They are quick unsustainable weightloss. Happy new year and hope we continue to motivate and encourage each other.

This is the smartest guy I know when it comes to training and nutrition. He trains world class pro athletes. I get a video from him a few times a week and am always learning something new. Check this out and see if it gives you something to consider. It is Jeff Cavaliere from Athlean.com https://youtu.be/36636A30XCg?t=5

I agree with everyone here and appreciate what everyone is saying because I say the same thing when I see friends and relatives going to mlm scam diets. It’s sustainable overall caloric deficit the produces the long term changes. I can stay on keto for months at a time (3.5 month was the longest I was on) before I go off for a while and coming back to it. I tried many different diets during 2010-2018 to see what i can live with and keto is the closest because I don’t feel hungry and I don’t feel like I’m on a diet when I’m on it. I tried vegetarian, whole 30, pure calorie counting, paleo, Atkins, intermittent fasting and low carb before. I felt really good on whole30 too because I wasn’t bloated but it was too restrictive (no alcohol, added sugar, grain, legumes, dairy, soy). I couldn’t eat out with friends without them yielding to whatever restaurant served the kind of food I can eat. During the 8 years, I went from 175 to 123 like a rollercoaster starting at the high weight. Bodybuilders cut bulk and cut again. I’m mostly cutting with some mini bulks. I’m currently back up to 133 my new high weight, but that number will go down again. When I was more athletic (participated in martial arts competitions) the start of keto affected me more, but for just hiit and yoga, keto is just perfect. I am eating protein, carbs and fats just eliminating all the carbs that don’t make me feel good. My body is that sensitive where within 30 min of eating grains/sugar/whatever was in the gyro meat I could tell I was feeling off. I mentioned to my friend I didn’t feel good after dinner. I said I felt like I had a bowl of rice. Like Jeff Cavalier, I am in support for any healthy diet that works for someone and is sustainable. But he needs to take into account what food sensitivities and lifestyle the person has. I work a desk job; walking, yoga and some weights is my workout. When I fought I needed the carbs for the endurance and recovery, but now I don’t. Maybe in a way it is moderation, I allocate all the foods that make me feel terrible to a set few weeks so I don’t feel terrible all the time. :)

Most of it has to be water retention, it's what mixed carbs-fats cause, especially if you are keto. Last week I was feeling bloated, stomachache too, I am not going to blame the carbs because I eat them every day, what makes me sick is the excess of food. You know what to do to get back on track 😀

Yep, Keilin. I’m on it. :) I am really grateful for the online friends I met here. Everyone here is so supportive much more so than those surrounding me physically. Last year I spent 1 month in the 120s, I’m hoping to spend the next 11 months in the 120s. I feel really good, look good and I can still eat at that weight. :)
