My pull up assist bands came in. Bought the 100-120 and the 50-75. 50-75 helps more than the gold gym ‘heavy’ band for sure. Had a hard time doing 3 with the 100-120. It helps a lot until eyes are level with the bar then it feels like I’m dead weight lol. Put both on and tried that. I planned on using the 100-120 for a couple weeks then using the 50-75 with the heavy band and slowly working down to just the heavy band (that I think is 15-20# ish). I could do 10 with both bands before my arms gave out and my hands started slipping. Should’ve put my gloves on for a better grip. Heart rate is up, nice sheen of sweat and I feel like I just jumped off the treadmill. Have a feeling even assisted pull-ups will be a good workout for me. I enjoy this so I can see myself doing it several times a day. Oh and by pull ups I mean getting my body up in all hand positions ;). So far my hands face each other usually. Can’t even begin to use the wide grip yet. Once I feel comfortable with the bands I’ll work on actual pull ups and chin ups ;).

Had to look up what a pull up assist band is. Looks good. Expect to be more into this sort of stuff early 2019.

I expected to use only the one, but oh well, tomorrow’s another day. If I do them several times a day I’ll either 1) gain muscle and strength faster or 2) lose strength because I’m doing too much. Next week is my last week of my class. Then surgery, 2 weeks with light ten minute walks, and another 4-8 weeks of 5# then I can jump to 20#. Technically I’m still supposed to be at 20# max. Shhhh don’t tell my dr. No reason why I can’t lift 30-50 upper and whatever I want lower (surgery was nowhere near my legs but this time will be lol). I’m afraid I’ll lose what I’ve built so far with basically 2-3 months of forced ‘taking it easy’. Plus it means I’ll either have to go 1200 again or gain fat.

The bands do help. Not as much as I’d hoped but they do help a lot the first few inches. Just takes a lot of time and I’m impatient lol

Wow, you're going strong. 😯 On fire. Sounds like good fun. Would love to feel like that in 2020 😀
