So... not a lot to be proud of I guess. A lot of people can do pull ups and chin ups. I never have. I don’t think I’ve ever been able to budge myself up even an inch. So this for me is a big deal. Not really but I want to record it for later to see progress. Wish I’d have taken one at the beginning. I’ll take a couple inch raise! In another 8-10 weeks (we’ve went 10 weeks but only 8 weeks worth of classes) perhaps I can come up a little higher. Next summer I’ll have my eyes or chin level with my hands! Maybe lol. Between carrying a 38# kid a lot in the last 24 hours (broken foot), 30 min cardio, 20 min weights, a bit of weights on my own after class, hauling in groceries then helping my kid with volleyball... I’m gonna hurt tomorrow!! My arms look sunburned and I’m sure I’m gonna have some bruises from the ball. Pulled my elbow and shoulder trying to dive for the ball and hit it hard. I’m too old to learn sports haha. (That’s code for too out of shape 😜) Now to eat a big dinner cause I really don’t care today. I’m sore, I’m hungry and I’m maintaining so... It’s a good day to splurge, again, since I used so much energy today. Listing volleyball and carrying the kiddo under my activity tracker as just normal steps. Too mich work for my tired self to figure up time and close activities at the moment.

🎉 don't sell yourself short peeperjj that's a massive deal. I remember being exactly where you are right now. every inch closer is an inch closer. if your goal is a chin up(my personal favourite exercise ever) two words- resistance bands. find some and use them. picture giant rubber bands. use 2,3,4 how ever many you need to get all the way up then work on doin a set of ... how even many you want, then take 1 band away... keep going to ya doing them on their own. I don't want to sound sexist but watching girls do chin ups is one of my favourite things. it means they are serious!! you can do what ever you want to mate, you have the drive!

Thanks Keith! First I need to get a bar at home. Hubby plans to make a swing set next spring. I asked if we could put a bar on one end about 6’ tall or a bit more. He’s thinking about it lol. The ymca doesn’t have anything except this machine pictured that could be used and someone is usually on it. If I get the chance I usually just do leg lifts so work the core. I still get tired quickly so I really need to go for half an hour, run errands then come back for another half hour before going home! I’ll look into bands thanks! I’ve seen a picture but can’t figure out how it would connect lol. I have some to stand on and use for curls and the like but they don’t connect to themselves or anything else.

Chris, this thing has a foot place on each side but there’s nothing else to put under it. Foot places are mid calf on me so I’d need a chair lol. Think my shower curtain rod would hold me?? I’ve been thinking about it but hubbys away and if it comes down along with me then I might need someone to help me up or take me to the dr lol. If it would hold my weight I could just hold my knees up in front or my heels up behind me :). I’ve thought about this a lot haha.

I have 2x4 railing on the porch but I have a feeling the floor of the porch would scrape me up if I tried it lol. Plus I can’t get a good grip on it (we won’t discuss how I know that or the smashed bush in front of the porch. Shhh don’t tell hubby I broke his bush haha). I need a visual of the bands so I’ll google :D. I doubt hubby gets me the bar. He still hasn’t managed to find a cement block for me to use :/. But he brought up a broken brick haha.

You can buy chin up bars that fit inside a standard door jam very cheap and they are great. Type in - door chin up bar into Google and you can't miss them.

Hmm should’ve checked her before bed last night. Kiddo with the broken foot insisted she needed to buy a toy with her money to keep her entertained. She figured out bribing me with that to get her to stay with her foot elevated would work. She’s 4 and using my tricks against me! Anywho I picked up a chin bar at Walmart. Not the best but I could put it up and it’s inside and I don’t have to leave to use it. Picked up the ONLY band they had.. a red ‘heavy’ band. Haha 10-35# golds gym heavy band is well not heavy. It literally helps me raise up 1/2” based on what my kid helped me measure. So online shopping I go. Green or blue I think. 60-175#?? I couldn’t get as high on this bar as I did yesterday. May be because I hadn’t worked out yet and did minimal stretching. The red band helped my 105# kid though. Almost cried when she raised up to her eyes with it. My kid is stronger than me.... 😬

You will be doing chin ups in no time 👌 Keep us in the loop with how your goin'.. here's a tip don't take your foot out the band under tension it hurts like a mofo hahaha

Lol the manual warned against that! My 12 yo tried to take her foot out while I was helping her keep her body aligned. Freaked out and she doesn’t understand how it might’ve hurt if she had succeeded before I was able to get a grip on the band! It would’ve smacked me right in the face from her foot to about waist height... She’s not allowed to go near it without me now and I don’t ever plan to attempt that. I like my nose, my whole face actually and the rest of me and I bruise easily. I’ll keep ya updated :). That’ll be easy cause I never shut up! I’m I’m not talking I’m usually typing haha.

I did it real early on, had one of those... I don't want to go to school today mum moments after it smacked me in the chin lol. Don't ever change! I love being the 2nd biggest rambler on here lol

Lol am I the first?? 🤪🤩 Sigh, Ive even started talking to myself. I’m even saying the words in my head as I type them then reread them in my head lol. My brain rarely shuts off so why should my mouth?? Haha.
