Special apple bratwurst from the butcher didn’t taste that much different than Johnsonville brats from Walmart ;). But they were twice the price. Shrank down and lost about 1/4-1/3 of their size in cooking. (I boil to get more fat out then pan try in 1Tbsp real butter for all of them) The kids said these were better but I think the idea that apples were in them was what made them popular with the kids. Next time I’ll cook in apple juice maybe (or crockpot) and serve with a side of sliced apples and peanut butter. I should get more fruit anyway and can pass on the peanut butter.
