MrsMagyk's Journal, 25 Jul 18

I am so bad, I just ate gluten-free chocolate cake with buttercream frosting. My daughter wanted cake because she wasn't feeling well. I've been stressed and I shouldn't of, but I did. I hate to say it, but I want more now. Got to get back on track. I had pizza last night too. My mom wanted to go out for dinner and I want to say that I had no choice, but I did. I regret it already. Man, losing weight is hard. Anyways, I'm done venting. My parents dogs are adorable. Thought I would share the pic. Thanks for listening and have a great day.

You are so right - it is hard - hang in there and pet those dogs - it has been proven that petting a dog will release dopamine in people AND IN THE DOGS!

Love that about the dogs! Wish it would also work like broken cookies -- no carbs if you pet the dog!

I don't think it's bad to eat cake! As long as the food you're eating fits within your RDI, you are okay, imo. It's when you eat the cake... then another... then lick the frosting out of the pan... well, maybe that's just me =:^o I'm hearing "my daughter wanted..." "my mother wanted..." and so you just went along for the ride. You need to learn to say no. You need to be able to say, "I'd love to go out with you, but I'd like to go somewhere healthy where I won't be tempted." And you need to remember that tomorrow is another day with a brand new opportunity to start fresh.

Failure is only temporary, get right back on the horse. Sometimes when eating something really bad, I'll eat a bite or two and pretend I've had the whole slice, then quickly find something to do so that I can forget about eating the rest. Good luck!

Every temptation is an opportunity to practice our self control skills. saying no thanks is difficult but the more often we can excersise the response the more of a habit it becomes. for me, learning to make the healthy selection off the menu or stopping at one bite of the yummy dessert fits into my control freak personality. took a long time to grasp that. eat it, don't eat it, its your choice, no one else's.
