LiveSTRONG tomorrow is 30m cardio then water exercises. Full body weight training will go to Tuesday’s only so I went today on my own. Felt that I am getting weaker rather than stronger by working with 15-30# upper and 30-90# lower at 3 sets of 8-12 reps.

Did some online research and found that I came very close to “muscle failure” so by stopping when I thought I couldn’t do even one more ended up being the best thing I could’ve done. Yay me and my worrying about hurting myself lol.

3 sets on most machines, 5-8 reps, 10-12 on a couple on the first set. Added 5# when I could do 12. Learned that I’m basically where I was when I started about 5-6 weeks ago. However I was doing 3x8 then and can usually do 3x10 with the trainer. Can only add in 5# increments 😫. Being at 50# upper by mid September looks to be out except as my ‘max’. BUT I managed 160# leg press for 2 reps of 5. Would’ve done 3 but we aren’t allowed to rest on the machine and people were glancing at me and mulling around so I knew they were politely waiting l.

With going to one day a week for total body I think I’ll stay late on Fridays to do it on my own and start Sunday’s again as soon as I can get away from the kids for 2 hours that day lol.

Note to self: research water weight and retention as well as increasing muscle mass while losing fat in a calorie deficit.
