Everyone went to bed and I’m a night owl so I decided to pick up the suite a bit. Fudge cookies were left out so I slid them back in the bag but almost took one. As I reached for it I thought ‘this will be good but will be gone quickly. If I wait and have a rice crispy treat I can nibble it and make it last longer and save 50calories.’ Honestly it was easy to not grab one and I only felt a quick twinge of remorse. Seems this diet/woe is rubbing off on me. I’ll still eat junk later on but now I have hope that by limiting it so much now, I’ll have better control in a few months/years. Also passed up a gas station soda and candy bar this afternoon ;). I saved like 550 calories from that stuff so felt freer to eat a heavier dinner.

Good choices! Passing up caloric food doesn't give you those calories as a bonus later, though.

Normally I’d agree but we are on vacation. I promised hubby and the kids that I would eat wherever they choose and not worry about calories this weekend if they didn’t complain that I cut back the last few days as I was able or when I spent more time at the gym. I was thinking 2k calories per day on vacation. I knew the restaurant tonight would be high in calories (even their salad with no dressing is probably about 600 cal for the side salad) so I ‘saved up’ those junk food calories to use on steak and potatoes tonight :). I passed up my rice crispy treat tonight so I can have a piece of toast with breakfast and not feel guilty for the extra calories. I was planning to skip breakfast but the family got irritated so... I did promise after all and they didn’t say a word about my sandwich for lunch over pizza ;). Give and take I guess :).
