My days are packed with work and family and preparing to go away on vacation to Nice with my best friend. pretty cool that we have also been married for 30 years. 😁 My intake the last week or so has been too much and my workouts are just going for walks and my active occupation. I won't be going to Europe skinny, but I'll come back in a little better shape and I'll work at it again. I have a tiny bit more packing to do, which is surprisingly challenging when only taking what can fit in my carry on backpack. Everything must be exactly what I can use and not waste space. I bought a pair of jeans at the thrift store last night that are size ten... last time I got that brand they were an 8. That is not great... makes me feel discouraged, but I want to be comfortable on the trip and I don't feel horrible... just... I know I've got to be so cautious and not get complacent when we get home. Journals are for the writer, and this is for me to try to stay attentive to my plans. They are for life not just a quick dash to a lower number on the scale. Today, I feel like my mental health... my spirits are in a good place. I am hopeful and not distressed. Off to work I go. ♥️😊

Today I got back from a trip to visit family in BC. Some wonderful memories were made. I got to celebrate my wonderful man's 56th birthday! He has been my best friend since he was 24. We had a fun day in town together sharing pizza and tasting local, BC apple cider. Kayaking was done on the river next to our family's home, and some of us went on a trip up the mountain to see the alpine lakes and look out over the beautiful valleys. It was so special! We took a couple quads and a 4X4 truck. I seriously didn't know if we would make it back! The track (No way it can be called a road in some places) was just washed out boulders, shale, and massive ruts in places... I thought we were going to flip backward or head over the edge... Praying was happening! We made it up to a lookout at the top of one ridge, which is used as a sledder's shelter. It is never locked and there is always a splitting maul and a big wood stove to use. It is a taste of bygone days when people took care to make sure there was safety provided for someone who might need help. By the time we got there the clouds had rolled in and visibility was not good, but it was so beautiful and peaceful! Our youngest son and his girlfriend, our oldest daughter, middle girl, and one of our twins that has become our family shared the time with us. It was a beautiful week with grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins... I ate too much and wasn't as active as I had hoped. I have some "recovery" to do. :)
