I decided to give it a try to this One: di Alain Delabos Chrono-Nutrition in 3 Phases. Phase one (the most restrictive one) "Demarrage express" or "Express slimming" lasts 4 weeks, then 2-4 weeks of "Phase intermédiaire" or "Intermediate phase", then either back to express phase (if more weight needs to be lost) or to "phase équilibre" or equilibrium phase (which is life long).
The book I took the diet from is unfortunately available only in French but I guess it gives me a chance to practice my French a little.
The gist of the diet is: you can eat basically every food (except milk) if you eat it at the right time of day (and in the right quantity).
Breakfast: lots of fat and some (few) carbs: cheese and bread
Lunch: meat and some (few) carb
Afternoon snack (always mandatory, to have when appetite comes back): small protein bar or vegetable fat (nuts, dark chocolate, ...) plus fruit or fruit derivate (juice etc)
Dinner (always optional, have only if hungry): fish and some (few) vegetables (1 cup)
What I like about this diet is the promise of being able to eat everything.... and I am curious about this French paradox...
I have already tried (with some success) the "lifelong" version of the chrono-nutrition (by the same author), but I did not stick to it as I have been turning to food as a celebration / consolation mechanism for a long time... my hubby and I both!!
This time I will do better: will substitute eating as celebration / consolation with other activities such as playing just-dance (good cardio!) or spending time with my love or talking on the phone or... writing in my journal!
This version of the diet promises a weight loss of 8 kilos (over 16 pounds) in four weeks.. left 's see!!
