This is definitely a "mish-mash" of items from last nights dinner. An attempt to finish up left overs and get in some calories after an 1177 cal cycle session. Last of the turkey meatloaf, rice, Toor Dahl (homemade, of course!), beet greens and beets with the lemon vinaigrette.

The cycle session felt amazing. Exercise alway feels wonderful for me after being sick. I sweat A LOT and I have learned to love sweating buckets, which is one of the reasons why I work-out alone...haha! The cold shower was pretty cold after 2 days of a low grade fever but it took the dopamine to the next level and I definitely needed a hit.

Tummy is still fickle which is often the case when I have a tummy bug vs. food poisoning. And, yes I know some say there is no such thing - it's all food poisoning. And, so we'll just say, there are tummy bugs that make me bring up a lot, don't give me a fever and leave my appetite ripe as rain after 12 hours and ready to consume a feast.

And, then there are these kinds of tummy bugs where I may not actually bring up that much, but they do cause fevers and body aches, and the stomach acids and intestinal tract are just a little indecisive about things for around 2-3 weeks give or take.

The latter is not optimal for someone who makes a spiritual practice out of endurance activities. But, I chose a different cycle session last night. One that would ensure I kept the rpms at a minimum and didn't have resistance levels going over all over the place. But, it was still an 1177 cal burn so yes I'm about 3500 plus cals in the hole. If some of you are wondering why I keep track of deficit cals, especially if I'm maintenance?

It's a thing I started doing when I trained for the 70.3 so I would have have an approximation of how many cals I might at least attempt to make up for on rest days. When the challenge was completed and I slipped into "fitness maintenance" mode, I felt it might be a nice thing to keep a caloric savings account for cals I couldn't consume (not hard to do with my training regimen) so I could put them forward for special occasions like birthdays, pizza nights, random cravings for cake...etc.

It works, but I'm a busy gal. Mom's gearing up for what hopefully will be her last joint surgery and spring gardening has commenced in addition to cooking, cleaning, laundry...etc. So, cals in the saving account tend to build up fast. It's actually been as high as 3900, but I was at a higher weight then. And, until my stomach and intestines stop being so indecisive I know it's best not to force the issue and let my minds appetite meet in the middle with my stomachs speculative nature, LOL!

Another factor here is I stopped taking the MS meds for 48 hours when I was sick. It's a medium efficacy medication so the washout period is very quick. We planned it that way so if things went south and we had to put me on something stronger, we didn't have to wait months to get me on another treatment...more like 24 hours. However, the side effects for vumerity are not pleasant. Queasiness is definitely one of them, along with some other gastric fire works like heart burn. There's flushing where a red rash will break out all over my whole body and itch and sting for about 40 minutes and makes me look like I have a lobster red fake "Bob Barker" tan before it finally disappears.

Thank God, I don't date! Whenever it happens at the kitchen table mom and I always enjoy a giggle and I say, "can you imagine if I was out with someone and this happened?!" How do ya explain that one?

Actually, just thinking about explanations makes me laugh hysterically even while I'm typing this because any explanation would be so suspect! LOL -

"Err...sorry my fake tanning lotion does this to me sometimes, just don't pay any attention...it will go away."

And, for the record that side effect never actually goes away.

Oh and, believe it or not...drippy sinuses in one of them as well.

Yay, Big Pharma for new innovative treatments!

Anyhow, so that may be a part of the reason the appetite is not quite up to snuff. Aaaah so as Ram Dass likes to say...This too will pass :-) The Ghrelin is having its way and those of you familiar with that hormone know just how powerful it can be. Especially, my fellow body builders who are on a cut. It will override anything, especially when one is lean and I can already see myself stuffing food in my mouth even when my stomach is like;

"Wooooah Bessy...wait! You didn't exactly run this by QC for approval, yet!"

Such a weird juxtaposition to be simultaneously ravenously eating and at the same moment, one's stomach is saying "hmmm, no I don't believe you asked us if we were in the mood...what are you doing!?"

I did clear 2300 cals last night, which is the most I've eaten in 3 days so we'll get there. Anyhow, apologies in advance for this post. I'm sure it's highly inappropriate. But, sometimes ya just have to step back and enjoy a little cosmic giggle at the whole thing.

The state of being is still well, the joy still present, and the body is healing. God is good.

Have a beautifully blessed day, everyone!
