On YouTube, I like Dr. Eric Berg. His sense of humor is quite subtle. His makes short, informative videos on why natural healing methods work. His advice resembles that of my own doctor, whom I love. I ignore Dr. Berg's supplement line and use the Standard Process that my own D.O. prescribes.
For survival, I must avoid all sugar. It goes way beyond the one million names of sugar that can be found on ingredient lists. Anything that the body turns to glucose during digestion becomes the sugar that feeds cancer. Cancer cells have many times the number of "energy receptors" than normal cells do. They cannot, however, access stored energy (fat). Yes, fasting can cure cancer, but it can cure life if done to death...
Most of us are in no danger of fasting to death. (Some are, and I've run across them, but anorexia nervosa is not part of my story.) I am convinced that the only reason that chemo and radiation work is that they keep people from eating! I have had many, many friends and relatives on chemo, radiation, and/or drugs. Only one of them survived it. Another personal friend survived his cancer by opting for minimally invasive surgery, but he avoided all the other treatments.
Do you understand why I refuse traditional treatments? Starve the cancer, and it dies. I don't need a bankruptcy drug to keep me from eating. Vegan Chris Wark beat cancer, but it is not necessary to remove all meat from everyone's diet. (You can if you want to, but I don't want to.) Natural, organic, grass-fed, grass-finished red meats are healthy. This is great news, for some of us cannot process protein from vegetable sources.
So folks, this is my pep talk to myself for my lifestyle choices. For two days, I have eaten the elite foods and dropped my carbs to almost nil, and I feel good again. As the cancer retreats, I'll force it back even further with IF*, OMAD*, and if I can handle it, EF*.
Turkey bacon fails my taste tests. It's just another processed meat, but sardines with my eggs rock.

It'a simple: boring food equals no pain. It doesn't really have to be boring in terms of spices, but the variety of foods I may eat is limited. Try designing gourmet meals without cheese! No cheese, no cream, no pork, no chicken, no nuts, NO BACON! Basically, all I can eat are eggs, red meats, some fish, and greens, and I am tired of it. All spices seem to be OK, as well as garlic and ginger. Bulb onions are questionable, but green onions are OK.
Oh, I am just complaining. This time of year, food becomes the center of social activity, and I have to ignore what's offered or suffer. Wednesday, we're having a pizza party where I live, and I cannot have any. Wheat causes discharge and pain. Cheese causes a lot of discharge. Processed meats cause pain. Sugar causes extreme pain, and the Swiss Colony catalog came yesterday.
Maybe, I'll have some of the good coffee that my daughter's friend gave me. Bulletproof coffee causes no physical backlash, unless you count the caffeine that just keeps me awake.

There is nothing so delightful as when the pain fades. Depression overtook me, so I ate bad things on Thursday. Many bad things seemed to taste good, but they didn't taste that good. The pain was so bad, I made out my will and sent an email about it to my ex. Pain increases depression. I went to bed for supper and thought I would wake up dead. Nope, it's after midnight, and all the same old garbage is still here. Thankfully, the worst of the pain is absent.
Why can't depression be the old-fashioned not eating anything? That's how I handled breaking up with my boyfriend in 1980! I lost a few pounds that weekend, but I was younger and much closer to my correct weight. In fact, what I weighed then is my current goal weight. Guys at work noticed the slight change in my size, or maybe it was just the change in attitude.
So, young people, eat healthy now. That definition seems to change a lot, so concentrate on real food. If it comes with a list of ingredients, don't eat it. Buy the ingredients and make your own. Better yet, grow your own ingredients. I live in a concrete-covered campground with rules, and I grow my own vegetables in pots. It can be done.

Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain! I am so sick of the rain. I am tempted to move a hundred miles west just so I can count on endless days of sunshine! My friends and family, however, live closer to soggy San Antonio, so here I stay. It is sacrilege to complain about the rain in this part of Texas, so please don't tell anyone that I did. :o
I am going to eat today, but it may not be the bacon and eggs I want. Rain keeps me home. I have some canned fish, fresh greens, and plenty of oils. My garden is thriving in all this rain. Hmm, if I have to go outside to snip some greens, then maybe I can just continue on to the car and visit HEB. You'll know when I post lunch. If fish, I stayed home. If eggs and bacon, I got out of the house!

Fasting isn't working while I am home. I found a stash of trail mix, and ate it. Tomorrow, I am going to go buy some eggs so I can eat something "legal".
