On the morning of my weigh in with the doctor's office, I was 194.2. I was excited to be down another pound. By the time I got there, I was only down 1/2 a pound and no change in measurement. So disappointed. The above is this morning's weigh-in, so not a lot is happening in the weight loss dept. Feeling pretty crappy about it, too. At least the last time there was little or no change in weight, there was a reduction in size. This is usually the time I get mad and sabotage myself. I won't (especially now that Andre is on board), but I really want to say screw it and eat whatever I want. I've been really anxious this week and having bad dreams: of people dressed in navy blue sweats raging in the streets with intent to harm and no fear of repercussion, of losing my job and being left with nothing... The political climate and tension on television and social media are literally making me sick. My entire body hurts, my skin condition is flaring, and I think I'm PMSing. YAY! Despite all this, I'm going to do my best to have a great week. I have a new musical project in the works, the sun has been shining the past two days, and the kids are on vacation so I'm hoping for productivity at the library. OH! I also discovered faamilysearch.org! It's administrated by the LDS (so you know it's not going anywhere) and it's FREE. I've fallen down the genealogy rabbit hole! I have confirmed Christopher Latham Sholes and Laura Ingalls Wilder as relations. So cool! Hope you all have a fantastic week!

Weigh in at the doctor had me at a one lb. loss, but the hubby and I went to Valentine's Day dinner afterward and it does not reflect in today's weigh-in. LOL! I finally stopped spotting after 2 weeks. (ugh) Had some moments of anxiety and flare-ups of HS this week, which are probably PMS again. For crying out loud... just stop already! I am grateful for the 60+ days I was without. It did give me a chance to even out. I guess I just need to hold tight 'til the end of this roller-coaster. OH! Speaking of roller-coasters: do any of you have chronic migraines which don't respond to medications? I have been plagued for as long as I can remember. This week I saw an ENT about some upper airway issues I've had, and it turns out that I have a very large bone spur in my nasal cavity! (WHAT?! How the heck did that happen?!) I also have a deviated septum and a concha bullosa which need correction, but this bone spur is so large it is poking into the turbinates across from it! It's so large that he actually put the word "large" in bold on the report. LOL! He said he can't guarantee it, but he suspects I may see a reduction in the number of migraines I get. (Are you kidding me!!??) I can't be more excited to find out. Surgery on March 13. (Yes, it's a Friday.) ...and speaking of surgery: I was disappointed to find I couldn't have a repair or replacement of my hip, but the injection does seem to have given me some relief. Physical therapy has been going well enough that we reduced frequency to once a week now. Just gotta stay disciplined with my exercises. ...and that being said, I am off to do just that! Have a great week!

So, we survived the 10-day detox part of the diet program. I was disappointed the weight loss wasn't more dramatic. I felt like it just validated the fact that we eat pretty well and probably didn't need to "detox." Despite that, we have stuck to the plan and are slowly reintroducing foods. So far, I have successfully reintroduced the 7-grain Sourdough from my local bakery and eggs. Now I'm trying dairy. I have just put feta on my salad. There wasn't much movement on the scale for me this week, but Doc says I lost 2 inches off my waist! Okay... That was helpful in keeping me motivated. DH lost 2 lbs. Physical therapy is all abs and glute work to provide some relief to my back and hips. I had the steroidal injection into my hip on Thursday, but I have no gigs coming up any time soon and it's too darn cold for a nice, long walk. I guess I'll just have to jump on the elliptical this week to test it out. Almost forgot about Superbowl Sunday! Typically, we stay home and make a bunch of party food. It's not dissimilar to our NYE. (We love party food, but not so much the parties.) This year, we have decided to try a healthier versions like chicken and veggie nachos, cauliflower bites, and assorted cut veggies. I'm even excited about trying a new veggie this week: kholrabi! OH! TOM came to visit this week. (Although, can we even call it that when you're peri-menopausal?) I was really hoping it wasn't coming back. Ah well... 61 day without it was blissful and I had no crazy symptoms this time. Fingers crossed it'll be normal-ish and not last 3 months.
