So, I visited my twin brother this weekend and it was the first time in many years we've actually spent time just the two of us together. It was so fun! We kayaked Point Loma on Saturday and cooked healthy food together....but then....it happened...he bought red wine and chocolate....wait? what?!!? Oh Yes He Did. So since Friday I've lost only half a pound, BUT I made him go to Church (CSL) with me on Sunday. And...wait? what?!!? He actually liked it! Mr. Catholic in a New Age church and he liked it!!! (doing the victory lap:) And so it is.

Isn't it interesting how sometimes we can set a goal for ourselves and fail because, if we're being honest with ourselves, we just didn't take the goal seriously? It's all about motivation and burning desire. All year long I've been saying I would change my eating habits and start to take this weight off. Didn't happen. For some reason I'm extraordinarily determined now and have my weight goals typed out in plan site above my computer screen to stare at all day. In fact, everyone who comes into my office can see it. I'm all about transparency at this point in my life (where appropriate of course) and part of that is being very honest about my weight where I am and where I want to go. So far it's working. I've lost 20 pounds.
My Goal - to have lost 30 pounds by the end of November (down to 215). From where I am now that's just shy of 2 pounds a week for the next 5 weeks (total of 9 LBS). For my age and weight my daily calories should be 1900-2000 to maintain, so to lose I'll have to reduce to 900-1,000 calories per day (except the days I actually manage to work out). Okay....GAME ON

Had the most amazing weekend ever. Went to a meditation retreat on Saturday, saw Wanda Sykes at the Wilturn Saturday night (she is F'n funny, that one:), and did a workshop on creativity and vulnerability on Sunday...insight and peace during the day, laugh your ass off at night...sounds good to me:) Didn't cheat too very bad, it's easier to manage what I eat during the week. AND I do not feel guilty about the two glasses of wine I had at Book Club last night that paired so lovely with the Hershey's dark chocolate kisses. I still stayed under 1500 calories for the day despite the club Dinner.
Life is good when we let it be.
