HAPPY FRIDAY!

Spring cleaning on the agenda today, off work yesterday and today so getting the beds stripped and in the laundry, doing the floors and tackling the garage which still has boxes of christmas decorations waiting to be placed in the attic.

I have not been feeling well for the last few days and I am off my exercise program slightly. It was just tummy issues and I am back to 100% today.

It has been really windy, a sure sign of spring coming to the sunshine state. The trees have dropped all remaining leaves and have been replaced by the bright green ones. The grass is also greening up after the nice rain we had earlier this week. Time to get tomatoes and flowers planted!

I love Spring... it is one of the best times of the year in the south. Warm days and cool nights with the windows open with a great breeze blowing through. I love it.

It's also a time of rebirth and new beginnings, for once again I am excited about my diet and exercise regimine and so happy to see the scale giving me good feedback again. The BLN program is in full sail and people are noticing each other and complimenting one another, which is part of what is intended with the program. It's a good thing.

In about 5 weeks I am going to an island off the coast of west Florida with all of my friends for about 5 days, so I want to be swimsuit ready, or at least as swimsuit ready as I can be at this stage. :-) The island is called Cayo Costa (literally, "coastal key" or "coastal island") and is on the southern side of the Boca Grande Pass, a world renown Tarpon fishing area.

I know all that sounds very luxurious, but it is not a resort. It is a state park that has camping facilities, the cabins are basic and there is no electricity. There is running water and showers if you don't mind it being cold. You can only arrive and leave by boat, there is no bridge to the mainland, which is GOOD.

However, it has many benefits that outweigh the rustic facilities. It is situated directly on the Gulf of Mexico, boasting a pristine white sandy beach, warm seas and awe-inspiring sunsets. There is great fishing, wonderful hiking trails, fantastic shelling and the ferry will haul bikes and kayaks over for you. The ranger station carries basic camping supplies so you get ice etc. So the exercise part is in the bag, no worries on that! And all of my friends are very active people, too. I can't wait!

Well I really got off on a tangent there... LOL! Yes I am looking forward to it.

Well a garage and laundry room beckons me, folks. Have a healthy, happy weekend!

Peace.

Had a great weekend with my friends, we celebrated the 80th birthday of the mom of my best friend in high school on Friday evening, it was a surprise party attended by over 100 people. She was blown away surprized and it was a great party. The food was typical buffet party food with enough choices for me to eat well without blowing my plan, I skipped the cake completely.

Saturday morning we had a healthy breakfast and we walked 3.5 miles afterwards. Lori lives on a rural road and it is a lovely place to walk! Then we went to the farmer's market and bought some lovely fresh fruit and veggies. The day was warm and we hung out by the pool for the afternoon, even taking a dip even though it was a bit cool at 80ºf.

Lori made us a healthy lunch of tuna lettuce wraps, she puts a bit of horseradish in the tuna and that really gives it some zip! We also had sliced veggies and fruit we had just bought at the market. For a little more exercise I grabbed a sack and picked pine cones that had fallen from the gazillion pine trees on their property. They have a bonfire area we use during gatherings and I dumped them in there.

Then on Saturday night I went out with my friends Lori & Carolyn, we stopped and picked up another friend, Sandy, and we went for cocktails (ale for me) and a light dinner and then to a show. It was a musical called, um, "Menopause"... LOL. It was hilarious and we had a great time. After dropping Sandy back home we ended the night back at Lori's house where we had a nightcap and a snack, played Rummicube, talked, laughed and stayed up late (in the guestroom so as not to disturb Lori's DH who was snoring soundly upstairs). We had a blast. It is so nice to have old friends like that.

We were up early on Sunday, the weather had changed as a cold front came through about 6am, blowing rain and much cooler temps. I left around 8:30 to get back to Melbourne in time for service at Nomad, and to record my weigh-in. I was so worried about my weigh-in but I was happy to see I worried too much! Damned dream. :D

So it was a great weekend but I was really glad to get home! My sister is being moved to a rehab facility today, she had knee surgery on Thursday and was in the hospital over the weekend. I am getting ready to go see her this morning.

Onward, intrepid travelers.....

Long week sportsfans... wrapped up most of the Love INC remodel today, it was almost midnight EST when I got home. I have to go back in the morning for a little while for a few touch ups and to help with whatever else needs to be done. The space looks awesome, something we are all very proud of and have made great memories together during the process.

Today was also weigh in day (actually yesterday now) for BLN, it was a short week with only 5 days since the last weigh in. I was astonished at my numbers, and very pleased... a challenge like this was just what I needed to get motivated again! At weigh-in time I was in the lead for our team, with a percentage of -1.52. I'll have to wait until Sunday to find out where I finished overall for the week. Onward.

I will try my best to get caught up with everyone over the weekend. Have a wonderful Friday all and thanks so much for your support and kindness.

Peace....out.....
