Fasting Blood Sugar 5.3 mmol/L
Inflammation is a fickle creature and it loves to pick on me...lol. I weigh myself daily, I just don't post daily anymore. Actually haven't posted daily for awhile now because of said inflammation. I've learned it is something I can't control with everything else going on in my body. And we all know from previous posts I deal with a ton of stuff - all health related.
But I can say I am still following the Carnivore way of life about 95% of the time. This is something I enjoy. I've been Carnivore for almost 8 weeks. On Monday I go see my diabetes Doc and inform him what I did. That is going to be interesting as it will be a 50/50% chance on his reaction of me taking myself off of the Janumet since January 1/2024 & without his permission. What I can tell you is that I have been watching my blood sugar daily fasting numbers settle into the low 5's for about the last 3 weeks or so. I think the lowest I went was 4.9 mmol/L. But it looks like I will have to wait another 3 months to find out what my cholesterol numbers are which means another 3 months of Carnivore ;)
The question is though, do I still consider myself a T2D? Most definitely Yes. I will always be a T2D. As soon as I add in more carbs (lets say to push it to 50 grams carbs daily) I know my blood sugars are going to skyrocket and then more inflammation will occur and start this cycle all over again.
Can I maintain this lifestyle forever? That I'm not sure. I am in a constant battle with my emotional/mental state trying to sideline my progress. That becomes tiring.
But on a positive note, I used to wear size 22 jeans when I started this journey. I can now fit into my size 16 jeans that I held on to for 10 years in hopes that I would be able to wear them once again. I can and they are not tight either. I have a pair of size 14 jeans that have been sitting in my closet for probably 15 years with the tags still attached. I know I'm not ready for them because of my waistline but I'll bet ya I could probably get them on my legs. All in good time.

Fasting Blood Sugar 5.3 mmol/L
I successfully made it thru January's Carnivore month and am continuing this way of life for the time being as it seems to be working for me. I have noticed though when I pig out on Steak and butter, my weight goes down even more so. Yesterday I was still 226 lbs, had a big steak last night with grass-fed butter and boom, weight loss. I may have to experiment more in regards to this. Chuckles - me and my experiments. But one thing I did learn from the other night, my body no longer tolerates the gluten-free packaged gravies/au juice. That triggered a violent response with my IBS-D/BAM. So check-mark & remove from diet....

I am smelling my Egg White Bread cooking in my oven and plan on making butter mayonnaise later today so I can enjoy my usual foods of egg salad & tuna salad. I still haven't gotten enough nerve yet to try the water packed sardines even though I know they are good on the Carnivore diet in that they bring in the necessary omega 3's. One day....lol
Tonight's dinner will be 5 chicken legs cooking in my air fryer.
I also got some idea's from Ketogenic Woman's you tube to trigger the creative juices of making items & prep work for this diet.
Upwards & Onwards!!

Note: I was planning on updating my weight once a week on Sundays but this is quite important to me to not post...
I am still waking up from my usual painful night of sleeping (it's my spine & hip) and did my usual first thing which is test my blood. Then I realized I haven't updated my app since *gasps* 11/27/2023. Updated that.
Fasting blood sugar today is 5.7 mmol/L. Happy with that number.
And then I stepped on the scale...
and did it 5 more times before grabbing my phone to take the picture.
Every single time it came out with the number in the picture.
I am in awe. I have not seen the 220's for minimum 35 if not more years.
Fricken 229.4 lbs baby!!!
*picks up jaw from floor*
Stunned but very, very, very happy!!!
So thankful I decided to give the Carnivore diet a proper go again. Proof is in the pudding, so to speak...
