I only started dieting on March 26, 2023… I am long retired, and now write introspective stories about “My Travels with Flies”, which is my attempt to understand my late diagnosed ADHD at age 67 this year (which explained everything!!!). I am also a bit of an artist, watercolours, mixed media, a lot of hammered copper, carving, printmaking. I also studied music at U of T and still play the piano a bit, not enough though…

I am a long-distance walker (10km/day) which I now have to break down into 3 or 4 separate ”events” because my hip burns out at the 2.4km mark. I love to walk. I can’t get enough of it. I walk hard and as far as I can until I am exhausted. If I am lucky, that gets me home! Walking is my happy place. Rain or shine, wind or snow, I am out there with the best of them (usually alone)… sometimes, on a good day, I am still at the head of the pack, but for much shorter distances than I used to.

I am only dieting for my wellness. I don’t actually feel overweight — regardless, I am significantly, by about 45lbs! My current goal is 15lbs in 4 months. We will have to see about that? The fact is, the medications for the ADHD, have given me the self control to consider dieting which is something I was never able to get my head around before the diagnosis. The medications have changed my life for the better. So much so, that I have to pinch myself to be sure it is still me!
