Update - Doctor visit was actually really positive. All of my systems are functioning normally with the exception of my lazy pancreas. Which, apparently is just going to remain a slacker for the foreseeable future. I am going to have to stay on my current medications for now. This is actually a good thing. How can this be good you ask? Well - because of all the positive things I am doing I am able to keep things working as they should be - stable. I am scheduled for a revisit in 6 months which is great. I am so grateful that there was no permanent kidney or liver damage and that I am actually feeling really good. The Dr. was a realist and noted that I will eventually have to increase my insulin somewhere down the road as my pancreas continues to fail. This is all very manageable and there is no definite time line, so I am going to live life everyday to the fullest. Which is what we are suppose to be doing anyway...right. I am truly blessed to have the support of friends and family especially my amazing wife who has been my rock through this adventure. My lesson from all this today - get out and live, love as often as you can, don't wait until there is the "right time" to do hat you are passionate about - now is the time. let go of those past hurts and resentments, forgive, there are no guarantees in this life and we are only given this moment. I wish everyone all the best on this awesome journey.

((((hugs)))). So happy you have been able to stabilize and there was no permanent damage to your liver and kidneys!! That is great news. Every one needs help - whether we like to admit that or not..... I think your acceptance of needing meds to help you keep the stability is a testament to your willingness to be real. What we want isn't always what we get but there is always learning to be done. Medications are not always a crutch - sometimes they are a helping hand that allows us to get to where we need or want to be.
