Unexpectedly ate a bit off script today with a small bowl of home made fish and vegetable plus a wee dram of single malt courtesy of a friend. Still just a shade over 1000cals for the day. Even it was more that that, I'm not going to deny myself a touch of a good taste along with the company of a good friend. I'm not dieting. Dieting is all about (as I see things) denial and deprivation. I'm making full life style changes which allow 'off script' enjoyments, within the overall context of the change.

Well into the second week of IF and finding the 16:8 split fitting neatly into my life style. I'm thinking after 4 full weeks of this, I'm going to give OMAD a try for a couple of days if I can come up with a solid calorie dense midday meal(s) so I can consume 900-1000 cals without eating what is coming to feel like 'huge' meals.

Also a question.. considering IF and OMAD, is there any downside to mixing the two approaches through a week?

I hope everyone is enjoying a pleasant evening and of course sticking to your plans. :)

Love your take on NOT dieting 😉 Depriving yourself too much leads (for me) to bingeing and just isn't sustainable long-term.

I have been since before I started Keto, doing a combo of OMAD & IF. Mostly because I find it simpler to eat once day. ☺️

I’ve been IF a long time and just started OMAD last week . It’s taken a bit of willpower but the results are worth it. IF prepares you for going longer without food-but I am also strict LCHF. Good luck

TANSTAAFL, FrankieBluEyes, Draglist... Thank you very much for the input. That helps my thinking, plotting and planning a bunch. tlschwennm, Thank you as well, its that long term change that is important. especially when building up comfortable habits and strategies that will help sustain the good choices I'm making now should I slip into the mental/emotional malaise that derailed me last time. Thank you all very much!!
