3.3 miles walked this morning....another hot day....91 degrees when I finished - AGAIN! Dogs were along for 1.2 miles and then I did a timed walk for the remaining 2.1 miles. I was happy to see my pace at nearly 3.7 mph, so, with the inherent inaccuracies of the test, I'll continue to record my walking at 3.5 mph and that'll be close enough. I had been concerned that with the heat of summer, I'd be slower and so should adjust my exercise entry to something less.

Thrift shop today!!! And then a stop at a grocery store that has leg quarters on sale. Perfect timing, since we used our last half-bag this past weekend.

For anyone interested....Vitacost.com has a BOGO-50% off sale on a number of items thru 6/19 (I think). NOT EVERYTHING is on the BOGO sale! Included in the sale are not only various vitamins and supplements, but also liquid stevia extract, which I'm thinking of trying for the first time, and even some powdered stevia....I'm thinking it's like Truvia???? Anyway, this is one of their better sales and you can usually buy enough to get the free shipping. I don't think you need a source code, so happy shopping!

Seems funny to hear you complain about the heat. Here I am only 6 hours away and we were in a cold rain about 60 degrees this AM. I even wore shoes (rather than sandals) to work. Appreciate your honesty in recording your walking speed. Think if we give out best guestimate everything averages out over time.

Buffy, I'd be all snuggled up in a big ol' blanket if it dropped into the 60's these days! At least the shoes kept your feet from getting wet....that's the worst thing about sandals, I think....getting water and gravel and sand in them. I agree about the speed guestimates. I just try to be sure I'm not over-estimating, by checking my time every month or so, or whenever I think there might be a change, like now, in the heat of the summer. Want to be sure I'm not slacking!!! LOL!

Bren, I think most of my walking has been at the 3mph speed, which is still a darn good clip! Sounds like all the rain got out of here and headed up toward you and Buffy. Bet you're in an area where you can smell the earth when it rains....I LOVE that!
