Applebees BLOWS. I got a Quesadilla burger today from there. Fat Secret calories show it at 518. Another spot supposedly has it 'verified' at 518. Without Ranch (which I nixed) 375!

I ate it, and it sure didn't 'feel' like 518 or 375, so I searched the net and found this:

Top 10 Worst Fast-Food Meals: Applebees Quesadilla Burger (A whopping 1440 calories and two days worth of sodium.)

and this:

Quesadilla Burger earns dubious honor - 1820 calories

Eat This, Not That 1920 calories

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?! There goes my day. Add some water retention for a couple days from the sodium to boot.

What calorie count is in fact correct? IMO it's the higher ones.

The problem REALLY stems from Applebees themselves who won't give out any nutritional info on their food. From their website:

"We provide Weight Watchers Points® values on all of our Weight Watchers® items. We do not provide nutritional information on other Applebee's® items, except where required by law."

Thanks Applebees. Keep the nation fat.

It sucks when you think you have done well for the day and then as you enter what you ate you find out you underestimated and have gone over. I find it really hard to go out to eat and try to only rely on the restaurant's web site nutritional information - if they don't publish, I typically will not patronize that place. Hang in there...it is only one blip for the week. You have been having a good week otherwise - so it may not impact your overall loss for the week.

haha! i work at applebees! we now have an under 550 calorie menu.. and they are really good about making sure we portion everything properly to meet the requirements (at least my store is) ..but i think thats because we got sued by weight watchers for cooking things wrong. ive even gone in the back to look at labels to count calories myself and nothing is labeled!!! if i ever find one i'll be sure to share the knowledge everyone since they seem to want to keep everyone fat. =(

Good to know that the 550 menu is taken seriously. I'll check it out if I go in again.
