Sandy701's Journal, 19 Mar 12

1.8 miles walked this morning with doggies....sunny blue skies, breezy and temps nearly 70 when we set out.

It was a busy weekend...DH's "project" car got stuck at church and wouldn't start, so I drove another vehicle and we towed it home. Unfortunately, he hasn't yet diagnosed the problem....which drives him crazy, esp. since he can't devote much time to it right now.

Then, I thought it was getting extra warm in the laundry room yesterday and that the dryer sounded different. As my mom's dementia was developing, she often thought that appliances were running too much or sounding odd, when they were perfectly fine. I hoped that I wasn't following that path.... Anyway, I finally found out that I/we had inadvertently knocked a small basket off the back of the dryer and it had detached the exhaust hose from the dryer, so the warm air was what I had been feeling in the room and, of course, the sound was different because of it.

I had to pull DH away from his car (!!) to fix the exhaust hose and it took a lot longer than anticipated. Right now, I NEED everything in the laundry to work properly so we can get ready for a trip. After our trip, we'll get some ductwork that's sturdier and not so flimsy. What's there now is the proper stuff, but it falls off the connections the minute you move it even a little bit. DH has it well-attached now, but even he says we need something different.

On Saturday, when I did all the yardwork, I pulled out an old shirt that I was going to wear now as a shirt where you don't really care about how dirty it gets. Well......it was just way too big.....even for me to wear. It looked ridiculous! It really does look like someone else's shirt. I'd been keeping some of these "in case" I ever needed a big shirt, like after a surgery or something, due to swelling.....or as a shirt to wear for yardwork. But after seeing it on me, it's time to donate them. I can't envision ANY post-surgical time when I'd need this size. I wasn't ready to let these go before, but I am now.

The next few days, I'll be eating melon again...I have just a small amount left to eat up before leaving on our trip. Spinach pie will get baked later today for breakfasts while we're gone.

Yeah, Bren, I'm looking forward to it like I do every year. Just lots of small things that need to get done in these last couple days to make the trip easier, as well as getting doggies all packed to head off to "camp!"

Oh My...it was a busy weekend for you, I am really glad you discovered the dryer problem before it created more & bigger problems, like mold/mildew from all the excess moisture! I agree, it is time to get rid of those old baggy things. I discovered this morning, as I was digging into my spring/summer wardrobe (80's for today...not 30's as usual for March), most of what I have is so big it looks horrible. Good thing you are trying to prep for your trip, so much to get done, hope you have a wonderful time!!

Project cars! Love them - hate them! Anyway, I am glad your dryer got fixed and your "dementia" is under control. Wishing you a wonderful trip!

GG....I'm not sure what everything in WI is going to do with those high temps so very early in the season. As long as you don't get a bunch of rain, at least the mosquitos should stay under control! Have a good week!

Yes, Buffy, I have a love/hate relationship with that car. But we hadn't had to tow it in a very long while, so I guess we were due - LOL! And, yes, I was VERY glad that the dryer issue was real and not imagined!!!! Hope you're not working TOO hard....

Sandy, I just saw my first lake fly yesterday...they don't bite, but they are icky, & that means the mosquitos are just around the corner!!
