HAPPY FRIDAY!

Spring cleaning on the agenda today, off work yesterday and today so getting the beds stripped and in the laundry, doing the floors and tackling the garage which still has boxes of christmas decorations waiting to be placed in the attic.

I have not been feeling well for the last few days and I am off my exercise program slightly. It was just tummy issues and I am back to 100% today.

It has been really windy, a sure sign of spring coming to the sunshine state. The trees have dropped all remaining leaves and have been replaced by the bright green ones. The grass is also greening up after the nice rain we had earlier this week. Time to get tomatoes and flowers planted!

I love Spring... it is one of the best times of the year in the south. Warm days and cool nights with the windows open with a great breeze blowing through. I love it.

It's also a time of rebirth and new beginnings, for once again I am excited about my diet and exercise regimine and so happy to see the scale giving me good feedback again. The BLN program is in full sail and people are noticing each other and complimenting one another, which is part of what is intended with the program. It's a good thing.

In about 5 weeks I am going to an island off the coast of west Florida with all of my friends for about 5 days, so I want to be swimsuit ready, or at least as swimsuit ready as I can be at this stage. :-) The island is called Cayo Costa (literally, "coastal key" or "coastal island") and is on the southern side of the Boca Grande Pass, a world renown Tarpon fishing area.

I know all that sounds very luxurious, but it is not a resort. It is a state park that has camping facilities, the cabins are basic and there is no electricity. There is running water and showers if you don't mind it being cold. You can only arrive and leave by boat, there is no bridge to the mainland, which is GOOD.

However, it has many benefits that outweigh the rustic facilities. It is situated directly on the Gulf of Mexico, boasting a pristine white sandy beach, warm seas and awe-inspiring sunsets. There is great fishing, wonderful hiking trails, fantastic shelling and the ferry will haul bikes and kayaks over for you. The ranger station carries basic camping supplies so you get ice etc. So the exercise part is in the bag, no worries on that! And all of my friends are very active people, too. I can't wait!

Well I really got off on a tangent there... LOL! Yes I am looking forward to it.

Well a garage and laundry room beckons me, folks. Have a healthy, happy weekend!

Peace.

Thanks Bren - we all love Cayo Costa and have been there many times... it's been a while since I was there, however. It is very quiet and the cabins are right by the ocean dunes, the sound of the waves lull you to sleep at night. We do have phones since we are in the cell phone age, but they mostly are used for taking pictures. And the best thing about it is that it's cheap! I think it's about 35 bucks a night or something. There is a cost if you use the ferry but that's minimal too. It's a very economical vacation. Thanks for the well wishes!
