Johanne's Journal, 07 Feb 12

Bren, I went out and howled at the moon. I couldn't see it. We're supposed to get really nasty weather overnight.

My cardiologist visit went a little sideways. They did an EKG and the results showed "undetermined abnormalities." They have me scheduled for a nuclear stress test and echocardiogram in the morning. That means if we get the snow and ice they're calling for overnight, I'll be out in it in the morning.

I was a little upset when I got home. Instead of eating I went to sleep. I don't know that sleeping is a healthy alternative but anyone I would talk to about this was at work so I couldn't talk it out. I can't eat. I can't drink anything but water until after the tests. I'm going to get a shower and go back to bed. I'll let you all know what happens. G'night

Oh, Bonnie...I am so sorry that your tests didn't turn out well. I will be praying for you for tomorrow. It is getting really nasty out here, about an inch of snow already. Looks like it may be slick tomorrow morning. I went out and howled up at the "moon" and got snow on my eyelashes! Hugs and please let me know how the tests turn out! Love you, my friend!!!

sorry to hear that, Jo. wish you good luck for your stress test and hope, that is is nothing serious. i know how hard it is to go to the doctor with an empty stomach... i had to do that about 3 weeks go, because she thought i may have diabetes. but luckily it wasn't. wish you all the luck in the world, and hope your next journal entry will be a bit more positive!

Hi Stef. We got just the LIGHTEST dusting of snow . . . none on the roads, so the drive to the hospital this morning wasn't bad. The testing took about 3 1/2 hours and has left me feeling ill with a really nasty headache. I was OK with the radioactive stuff, but when they put the stress chem in I thought I was going to die. What an awful, out-of-body feeling. Then they did a second nuclear scan after the stress test.

Joelae, I'm so glad you didn't test with diabetes. I often do fasting tests. I'm just not used to being relegated to water only.

Bren, apparently most of our nasty weather hit Steph's part of the state. We got a bare dusting . . . nothing on the roads. It was plenty cold. I wore my winter coat for the first time all winter. Unfortunately, the problem wasn't a blip on their machine. Part of my heart isn't receiving enough oxygen. They think the last trip to the ER might not have been my gall bladder after all. Since the ER Dr. didn't do a heart enzyme test, we don't know yet. I have to get another appt. with the cardiologist as soon as possible for a follow-up. Love you too. I could really use a close-up friend right now. All of mine are at work at the moment.
