Sandy701's Journal, 19 Jan 12

When it rains, it pours....for homeowners, that is. First it was the pool pump (now fixed), then it was the microwave - again - but we just waited it out (slight moisture shorting out the control panel) and it runs again. Then, last night, as I brought home a few items from Wally World, one of the 2 cables on the garage door snapped.

So today, after taking DH to work, I'll contact a company to come out and fix it. DH could repair it, but with his vision such as it is these days, and with a weight restriction, as well, we're better off hiring someone to do the repair.

I'm very hungry this AM...partially due to being up early. Why that makes me hungry, I don't know, but it seems to be a pattern. Also on days I'm up earlier, it's more difficult for me to keep my foods in line where I want them to be, so it will be a challenging day. Best bet is to get my walk in shortly and to stay busy...no problems there, as there's lots to do here at home now that DH is back to work.

It's sunny but pretty cool, as it dropped to near freezing last night, but at least this is the beginning of a warming trend for us. Also really, really thankful that DH is doing better each and every day.

I am so glad that hubby is doing so much better. Yes, having someone come fix the door is a great idea. Hope all goes well for you on the foods. I find if I eat late in the evening, I wake up starving. Have a good day and glad the microwave decided to work again for you.:):)

Yes, it never ends! Think it is good that you are having someone else fix the garage door since they need precision adjusting or they can malfunction down the road. Glad your microwave "fixed itself". Good luck with handling the "hungries". I've been having that problem myself and am just eating a lot of meat. Not sure if that is a good habit to get into but it keeps me away from the nuts!

Sandy I hear you ! When one thing starts there's always at least 2-3 more mishaps, it happens to all of us. Glad DH is doing fine, but better to hire repairs..hang in there !

Hi Bren...Being truly hungry is unusual for me, so that's why I wanted to take note of it. Stayed away from the peanuts yesterday, but went into the almond butter. Definitely not ideal, as I really like that too, but I'll take it all one step at a time.

Laurie, we're opposites! I find I'm hungry in the morning if I don't have a little something after dinner. Hope you're doing well.

Buffy, we figured it would not go over well if DH ended up with something from that garage door spring breaking loose and flying out, hitting him in the face when he's supposed to be protecting that eye.....hard to explain that one to the doctor - LOL!!! I too am trying to convince myself that if I get munchy, I have to eat protein, and that doesn't mean nuts!!

Notfast, thanks for the good thoughts on DH. It really does seem that household repairs come in bunches. We lucked out with the microwave, as it appears that just the tiniest bit of moisture shorted out the control panel. Just waiting about 24 hours allowed the moisture to dry up and it's working just fine. Potentially, we could be moving next summer (2013), so we'd rather just keep everything working, without having to buy new.
