Good morning, buddies! Yesterday was one of those busy days at work, that while rewarding, leaves me exhausted. But I did something that's been in the back of my mind for a couple of months, and I'm excited. I heard there will be a total eclipse of the sun in August, and it will be passing directly over South Carolina. Where I live, it will be visible, but just outside the range for totality. I had heard that hotels in the totality zone were already getting booked up for the date, as early as last year, but on a whim, I decided to see if there was anything available in the state capitol (2 hours away, and in the totality zone)...and there was! So I'm planning a long weekend to go and play tourist. A state museum there has a whole weekend of activities and events planned around the eclipse, including a viewing party for all the sun-geeks like me. There is a pool at the hotel, as well as a water park nearby, and some interesting historical sites to visit. August in South Carolina is notoriously hot and humid, so a water park will be just the ticket for fun and relaxation. This week, my weight has fluctuated wildly, from my last weigh in of 166 all the way to nearly 175. Up and down as much as 2 lbs over the course of a day. Crazy! I haven't weighed today, but I think I'm back down to last week's weight. I've been sticking to plan the last couple of days, so I'm feeling better, too. Enjoy your Thursday, my friends! ~Kes
