Did your volunteer work involve yesterday's dilemma? How did that work out?? You know Sandy - my parents had a couple of issues prior to my Dad getting really sick, and my Mom having her stroke. And when those issues came up...all of us kids lived 1800 miles away. But we were in contact w/ them by phone, and knew about the situations...so we figured out how to make it work for them! We hired a willing neighbor (senior) who was responsible and wanted the extra cash. We hired 'Peapod' deliver (Stop & Shop grocery store chain) - well it was like that service only a different chain store! To bring them grocercies. And we contacted a For Seniors Transport Service offered in their community. (which was free for the first 20 medical appts.) I guess what I am saying..is they won't know what resources are available to them, unless they..or their kids or loved ones... make the effort to find this information! This is not on you, Sandy. You do not have to be responsible for anything more than randomly and occasional dropping in to say Hi - if you want to! That's all. Letting them know you care - but that doesn't have to equal you care = so you do! They need to know so they can start some 'family' research / conversations into how this will all get worked out. These grown adult children should be actively involved in helping the parents. I know just how hard this really is... and how torn you really are... but you are actually hurting the situation if you continue. (in my opinion.) Because they won't get the message they need to get involved and help their parents... if their parents never let them know they NEED their help! Hope you've worked through all of this... Much Love.

Sandy - Good evening. Like Paula, I am hoping you have resolved all your neighborhood issues so you can spend your time where you are needed the most. Nice to know through all this you are still finding time to take your walk. Have a relaxing weekend.

Some days do just fly by don't they. I am glad you are a "good" busy, & I truely do appreciate all the time you spend volunteering, I am so sure your community really needs & appreciates you, more than you may ever know. At this point in my life, as I am still working, (glad to be, really I am), but someday hope to be able to be an active volunteer! I hope your afternoon & evening went well...Happy Walking!
