Been kind of discouraged due to trying to keep my sodium low.. no matter how hard i try.. i can not get it to the low standard of what the American Heart Association said it should be 1500mg or less.. how in the heck am I suppose to eat that low.. trying to watch my sodium in take.. but it ends up near 2300 mg.. just discouraged..

For me tracking the sodium level is one of the most difficult things, and it's even harder if you eat out a lot, or use a lot of prepared foods. You might take one of your "average" days and review the sodium amounts shown (another reason why it's important to make sure you log everything you eat.) Start with the highest level items and see what you might substitute, then plug those items into your plan and see what impact it has -- if it doesn't change the total, try a different substitute. Watch the sodium content of anything you buy and, for meals you prepare at home, consider using a salt substitute like Mrs. Dash. I use a variety called Table Blend in place of my salt shaker -- if I don't have salt available, I am less apt to use it. Good luck.
