Sandy701's Journal, 20 Sep 11

Well, I got my walking in (3.1 miles), only getting dripped on in the beginning. One doggy along for just .8, the other for 1.9 miles. The sun began to break through and ALL the humidity that has returned just enveloped us like the usually described, "wet blanket." UGH Index probably an 8 as I was finishing up; nothing like sweating off a few ounces!

Today's chores include a major grocery trip. I didn't shop over the weekend, as my grocery store had a huge outdoor sale going on that normally pulls in traffic from the entire area and it becomes a regular zoo of people and cars EVERYWHERE! And...unless I want to buy cases of sugary drinks, or family size packages of deli-type meats, the buys aren't all that great - for me.

So, time to stock up a bit in a calmer environment and get it all done before the next round of rain.

Scale stayed in the 158's! I just might be on to something, here....

Bren, getting that walking in early in the day just changes your whole attitude, doesn't it? Good for you!

Hi Sandy, I can NOT blame you for avoiding the store for an event like that! Yikes, I would hate it very much. I go out of my way to do my Walmarting early in the morning as to avoid the huge crowds, crying babies, lack of checkouts to customer ratio, etc. The usual grocery store crowd I can tolerate, well mostly that is. Gee, does it show that I am not a crowd person? LOL, I think it is a good thing to know one's limitations...I hope you get out of there without spending the equivalent of the national debt. Have a great day!

GG...I know what you mean. Guess I'm not really a crowd person either - LOL! What ticks me off is the family, or couple, that take up the entire aisle, side to side, seemingly oblivious that other people need to get past. And, today....2 guys buying LOTS of eggs (as in, for a fundraiser breakfast) and keeping their cart parked right in front of the egg case while they checked each container....again oblivious to the fact that they were stopping a few others of us from accessing any the eggs. But, I have to forgive them....they're GUYS, after all - LOL! All in all, pretty petty stuff, I know. Just some days it's easier to handle than others. Hope your day is going well.

Thanks BuffyBear. I did manage to find a few very nice bargains....strawberries just a wee bit past their peak freshness (still great for my smoothies) and a can of pistachio blend nuts I can send to my Mom (automatic coupon deducted at register). Have a great evening.
