I have a question for all you Fitbit users, what do you do to get your Fitbit to register your steps when on the treadmill? I have a problem because I need to hold on to the treadmill because of my balance (hope that changes when I get my prescription potassium Monday). Fitbit says to swing your arms so I thought I could take turns with my arms and that was when I found out it only registers the arm the Fitbit is on. You can accurately sit in a chair and swing your arm up and down and it will register steps. Anyway if any of you I a suggestion I would appreciate it. Swinging only my left arm I think would leave me lop sided haha.

I'm still under the weather a bit but slowly doing better. I'm having awful ice cream cravings, it seems like every time I look at the tv it's on there. Ice cream is one of my comfort foods. It seems I could always find an excuse if I let myself.

Hope the rest of your Sunday is a good one.

Hi, Addie. I just did two hours on my treadmill while wearing my Fitbit. I wear it on my dominant hand (right) since I prefer to still wear a watch, and wear that on my left wrist. Anyway... I still spend quite a bit of time holding on to the rail of my treadmill when I walk. I use my left hand for that. I keep my Fitbit arm free, but do not have to swing it in any exaggerated way to get it to register my steps. I just move my arm as I normally do when walking. Granted, I only walk between 2.0-2.5mph, but that's due to bad knees. As long as I can keep to this pace, I've been able to walk a much longer time. Fitbit has recorded all of it, with no problem.

My treadmill has the crossfit bars and registers everything, steps, calories heart rate, time, miles, etc. I hold onto the crossfit bars even when I am not doing crossfit; it is easier than holding to the rail handles.

Draglist, I have the Charge HR because I really wanted the heart rate feature so maybe yours is better at recording. mmeyer I may have used to strong a word when I said swing it is more like the movement you use when walking. I did think about lowering the speed then my arms would be free. pumkin, my treadmill only records time , speed, distance, elevation and time.

I also have the little Zip and have had no problems with it recording steps. So I'll just see what happens with the HR in the next few days.

I really like my Charge HR. The only issue I'm currently having with it is that it doesn't always accurately record number of stairs climbed. I find that if I leave my arms down, it usually records, but if I'm carrying something or have my arm raised, it does record that flight. I've only had it for three weeks, so I'm still learning all of the nuances.

Breyers carb smart ice cream. Not for every day but great for when the urge hits. Here in Floridia we have Blue Bunny ice cream, no sugar added. it is wonderva. Just saying for your ice cream cravings, there is a way.

Thanks everyone for your input n the Fitbit I guess I just have o be patient and wrork with it. Sweet Georgia Peaches I don't dare buy the LC ice creams because a serving is only a 1/2 cup and no way could I do that I would end up eating 1/2 of the container. I just have to wait it out and it will go away soon I hope.

My fitbit was a waste of money. My old cheap little manual step tracker that I clipped to my belt recorded steps perfectly for about $5 LOL. I also work at a computer all day and my fitbit seems to think every time I type or click the mouse I am taking a step :)

I really wanted the Charge HR for heart rate reading and really liked the zip I had but of course it didn't do that. It does work great on steps though. I'm still undecided about keeping the Charge HR because the one I have will only hold a charge about a day and a half. My DH says just keep it and charge it every night since I'm not interested in the sleep mode so I'm still undecided.
