Thank you everyone, it was really good (even the okra! 😁) tho the pretzel bun was a calorie splurge, oh well. I prolly gained those ounces for you TJV! Thanks, ad. You've never had okra? You're missing out. Really, ppl seem to love or hate it. I fall in the first camp! 😊

I’ve never even seen it before 😂

Can I have some okra? Lol, I sometimes forget about Okra because I live in the Midwest now, and haven’t lived in New Orleans since I was a kid.

I can't even get it in the local village 'supermarket' not even frozen. I do find it at Walmart next town. I like it when I cook it myself or also in the Southern-style canned veges that I can find only at Dollar General. For anyone struggling with anemia, this stuff builds blood zoomers.

Ad, that's a shame, it's so good! More of a southern US thing I think 😊

Oh man, that sucks, Gopher. Can you grow it in your zone? I know it flourishes in heat. I love it simply sauteed, and in soups too. I didn't realize it was high in iron. That's good to know. I've always struggled with anemia, but blood tests came out good this last time. Learn something new every day! Thank you! 🤗

Laine, I hope you can find some local. Maybe grow some? I myself don't have a very green thumb 😐

Certainly not an English thing 😂

Windy, I should be able to grow it here. Good idea, I'll experiment in one of my two raised flower beds where the volunteer tomatoes insist on showing up annually. Gumbo garden? ;-)

Definitely! Go for it, Gopherit! 😊

I've always loved okra but then I grew up eating it 🤤. But I have been told it's one of those foods you jave to grow up eating do to texture issues aka slime. Adpreso, it has a viscous sap that can meet sometimes slimy if the vegetable is not prepared in certain ways it also has large seeds with sometimes going to off-putting to people who aren't used to them. It was only as I grew older I was introduced to it in gumbo. But I like it in all forms except for its raw form personally. 😊

I don't eat a lot of buns for my burgers 🍔 except when we are traveling in the car and are eating fast food (weird I know), but when I do I love pretzel bread. Strangely still eat it on the side like bread 🍞 for some reason 🤷 lol 😂.

It doesn’t sound like it’s for me Leah 😂

Leah, I rarely eat fast food, because it’s the one thing I’ve cut back drastically instead of slightly on, like only two or three times a year, not even on road trips lol. But I do love bread too much…I might cut back on bread, even whole-wheat, and carbs in general. And I had fast food today—which is unusual for me! My current step is to cut back on bread now—like maybe you are doing, or maybe you just don’t care for bread, IDK. Either way, saying that inspired me lol.
