Found in my local Asian food store. If you have the option, look beyond the American supermarket—a lot of fresh items were less expensive.

Nothing like that here. We are very rural.

Wifey, so many varieties of it, too, plus other varieties of Chinese cruciferous veggies. Most totally unfamiliar to me. Sticking with what I know, for now, but it’s nice to have these options to explore in the future!

JC, I’ll have to check out the fruit section next time!

Morticia, I hope you don’t have to rely on one food store, even in a rural area. Maybe some farm stands or markets in season?

Not included in the pictures: organic tofu, purple yams and a tub of fresh chicken livers. By the way, the pictured dried seaweed (kombu) is something I don't eat but learned to add to a pot of beans when cooking them from dry. It helps breaks down hard-to-digest starches in beans.

Agreed, some of my favorite stores! Can often get 'fresh' tofu too! Indian too, the price of dates is 1/4 of my local supermarket!
