Bionici's Journal, 22 Dec 23

10:15 AM Anyone struggling with all of the Christmas holiday goodies, parties, etc...that are starting to happen. My wife has baked endlessly in anticipation of the family being here starting on Saturday. We have received baked goods, sweets, and candy treats. They are sitting here and just like the plant in "Little House Of Horrors", my weight inspired inner-devil is saying "Feed me, feed me". :) Also, we made a pot of Butternut Squash Soup with Andouille Sausage & Rice last night. It is delicious, but a little higher calorie. Thankfully, it will last a couple of nights. We are so richly blessed with family & friends, and truly look forward to being with everyone for the next few days. Then it is back to strictly monitoring my intake and exercise. I sincerely hope that everyone has a wonderful Christmas holiday season, and enjoyu time with your family & friends. Everyone keep focusing, keep exercising, and keep losing / maintaininly your weight. Yeah, I know that will be difficult for the next 10 days, and I am probably one of the worst at this time of the year. January 1 will come very soon. Be well my FS friends. God is good !!

1:00 PM It is about time for lunch,....Soup, Crackers, etc...but none of the goodies. That's later. However, I just put 80.25 minutes on the bike, and road 23.30 miles, or 17.42 MPH. That is a record for me,...well by 1/100 of a mph. My previous best was 17.41 MPH back in May. It's odd. My legs were flying and were not stressed. Generally, they fly but don't like the ride, or they are fly but hurt, or they are slow and hurt. But, today the legs really liked the ride. Maybe, it was all those extra calories from the treats. Who knows. But it was good. Great day !!

Good luck with the temptation. I am not doing well with it plus stress. Things will get better after the first of the year.

I'm away from my family and to be at my house you wouldn't know it's the holiday season. it's very sad and I miss them all very much. because I'm away from them I'm not baking like I love to do. I'm not making a big holiday meal. I guess I'll fair better as far as caloric intake. but I rather be eating a little extra and be with family! Definitely next year!

It was the office party leftovers that got me 😂 We're not big into Christmas and will likely just cross country ski that day, if conditions cooperate. So I'm past the temptations at the moment, although this week's weigh-in will be ugly

My belief is just "eat the treats." Fall off the wagon, but control yourself and get back on after the holidays. Make sure you send all your wife's baking home with guests so you have nothing left after Jan 1 (and don't bring anything home with you. )

I'm not, but I've been off sugar entirely for 20 months. It gets so much easier the longer you are off. This is the hard year. Hang in there.

Lornaw, I stay off of the sugar as much as I can. Christmas & Thanksgiving seasons are particularly tough, but the 1st of the year is close, and I'll be back at my regimen by then. Have a wonderful Christmas & 2024.
